I looked at a bio for Tally Hall at a venue's site & saw this:

Ann Arbor, Michigan’s melodic, playful rock band Tally Hall derived their name from a now defunct mini-mall in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Recently signed to Atlantic Records, they made their Western MA debut last fall opening for Zox.

They got signed to Atlantic? That sounds awesome... please don't tell me this was way old news though bc I'll feel really stupid Wink

First I've heard of it...
Pretty sweet, though, if they have been.

I actually think it's quite recent.
I haven't heard it from a reputable source yet (sorry klara), but I believe this is true.
And it could be fairly huge, since people like phill collins and the eagles were on atlantic.

So, it could either be one of two situations.
Either A, they have signed to Atlantic, and haven't said anything official about it yet.
Or B, they haven't signed to Atlantic, and that site just misconstrued whatever deal they struck over the OC stuff as a record deal.

Well..yes... but the O.C. thing probably did require some sort of signing to Atlantic Records for a one-song deal -- and that's all.

The question is: if they are signed to a one-album or multi-album deal.

either way, it's incredibly exciting they're involved with such a big label anyway. it can only mean bigger and better things, i suppose.

hahaha thank you, that is appreciated.

just for everyone's information, this was in an email from tally hall's booking agent: "recently inked a deal with Atlantic Records - look for their debut release late Spring 2007"

Seriously? New album in late Spring?
That's only like three months from now... o.o

that "debut" release would just be a re-releasing of Marvin's and is when we'd get the video.

it all makes sense now why we had that huge delay.

Erm, I don't think it's just going to be another re-release of Marvin's.

Bora didn't say anything specific, but, then, he never does.

I dunno... It seems way too soon for them to release an entirely new album...

but it wouldn't be a "debut", they already have a "debut" album.

so i'm just not sure what to think anymore.
