Hey guys,
I've been digging up old threads in search for Tally Hall's out-of-print EP's... in particular, Partyboobytrap, Pingry and Complete Demos. Some of you (most gracefully) uploaded these to the internet, however, these downloads have since expired. And i ask most humbly that they be re-uploaded, and if it helps, i will upload them to my webserver where they will live forever and ever for people to download and fans will never pester you again to keep uploading them. Also, I hate to be finicky about it, but I would prefer the MP3's to be AT LEAST 192kbps MP3 (256kbps is optimum), you see I have a massive hi-fi system, and anything lower than 192 sounds like it's coming out of a tin can. Another alternative is that someone who owns a physical copy of these EP's, i will send via snail mail CD-R's for you to copy the EP's to, and then simpy send it back via the return address, and I will encode them and upload them to my webserver Do you want dis banana? |

Welcome To Tally Hall, PartyBoobyTrap, and Pingry were all home-made, using audio captured by a camcorder and mixed in Final Cut Studio. In other words, unless they were remastered for Complete Demos (which I'm highly confident they weren't), then they probably never made it to 192kbps.
Also, to clarify, Complete Demos is a compilation of the Welcome to Tally Hall and PartyBoobyTrap EPs. The songs on PartyBoobyTrap are no different from the songs on Complete Demos. That having been said, I can help you: I have original copies of Pingry and Complete Demos. The bad news, though, is that they're currently in storage at my house, and I go to school full time about fifty miles away. In other words, I can get you copies, but I couldn't send them out any earlier than Thanksgiving. Best of luck in the meantime. |

well, if you're able to send me a physical burnt copy, I'm patient with however long it may take.
Just fire a few emails at ralph [dot] mail [at] gmail [dot] com and we can discuss postage This message has been edited. Last edited by: RWS, Do you want dis banana? |

I would absolutely love there to be some "Tally Hall EP Museum"* I'd help out if I could, but I have not the cds myself.
Sorry, I'm about to go all techie on this, but if they were captured with final cut using a camcorder, they made it well beyond 1000kbps. DV-format video uses 48khz-16bit audio, beyond CD's 44.1khz. As for software-techie findings: Max for mac (with full paranoia turned on) and cdparanoia for linux tend to get the best rips, I believe EAC for windows as well, but I'm not familiar. That is, if we're going for archiving these EPs. LAME is great for mp3 encoding, haven't found better. iTunes is terrible at it by comparison. I would keep a backup copy in FLAC or WAV just because. Audio Nerdyness over. I wish you luck in this venture, please let us know how it goes! *Also known as "T.H.E.M." |

I've got Pingry and CD but I don't know anything about audio quality. I'm willing to upload them to MegaUpload or something, but I can't guarantee anything. I might suggest lowering your expectations if you're going to start collecting old bootlegs and the like. Most of the songs on Pingry and CD are on Marvin's, so if you're looking for high-quality, listen to the album.**
** After re-reading that post, I now realize how bitchy it sounded and I apologize*** ***But stand by my statements. _______________________________ PS This is what the alphabet would look like if you removed Q and R. |

I fully understand and support your statements. Beggars can't be choosers.
It's really me wanting to be involved in some sort of effort but not really being able to. Also, I do own MMMM, it's awesome. I've not heard the remake, though. oooh... maybe I could help make/design a Tally Hall EP Museum Website or such. |

Yeah I could go for a live/bootleg section too.
