The guys have small kids and they have chosen not to take their families on the road so they do gigs to pay the bills and maybe once the kids get older things will be different. I'd hate my dad to be gone for a long time on tour if I wasn't going with him. I understand that it's all about the music for you. I'm sure it is for them too, but life takes priority right now. Who cares what the tabloids or other magazines say. Yes it's annoying to read, but we know better. Those are just uninformed people writing that crap anyway. I just think we could all be a little less critical when it comes to how much or how little the guys are touring. Yes, it's easy for me to say this since I've already had my fix for the year, but even if I hadn't I'd have some sort of realization that there's got to be something more important going on in their lives. I know this is basically beating a dead horse, but I really think the guys want to do both things (family and music and/or family and day job) but finding a good balance is hard. I love the music too and I can't wait to hear new stuff. All in good time. As far as Mark and Extra goes we'll have to agree to disagree.

Agree 100% which is exactly why i was like WTF when someone said all we're getting is an EP. They haven't really done a 'full' tour in a few years now and I was thinking well they are spending time with families, writing new music, recording, etc... which is a good thing. Again, 4 years. You would think they'd have more and be ready to go back out on a full tour. Maybe they haven't been working on the music during that time. Who knows...

I think also that a lot of people think that Sugar Ray is over because Mark works at EXTRA. I can understand that he is doing that because it´s a good job for him... (although I think that he´s better on stage....! I don´t like this TV show..! He´s not very natural there and that´s not "our" Mark like on stage.....!!)

And after these two shows in Norfolk and Fairfax and after seeing Mark at EXTRA when I was in Washington I am absolutly sure that he loves it much much much more to be a musician and to be on stage....!!!!!!
He´s the born frontman for a band...!!!!

It´s very difficult to be successful as a band in these times because there are so many new bands on the market.... but they must do more if they like to be again on the market. I understand that these of them who have a family like to be at home, but you are right... It´s their job to be a musician and if they like to do it in the future it´s normal to be on tour and on stage....

I think they will loose some more fans if they don´t work harder for their music and that would be soooooo SAD because they are soooo great and fantastic musicians...(and soooo nice and friendly guys with their fans!!! )

We only can hope that they will have so much fun to make music that we will have them for some more years on stage.....!!!!

I wonder if Mark is even going to renew his contract with Extra? It is up this year and they were talking about Chris Issak joining the Extra crew. They said he would be a corrisponding reporter but who knows?

I personally LOVE seeing MARK on EXTRA! AS ONSTAGE! But I also agree a little bit of the guys is better than nothing at all. But I also agree that after 4 years u would think that we would get a FULL c.d. But as a parent I understand the guys wanting to spend time with their families. I'm really confused on the whole situation. All I know is that I LOVE seeing ALL the guys but I also enjoy seeing Mark every single night also! If u don't mind me asking where did u hear that it's only going to be a EP instead of a LP? We all could be getting worked up over nothing at all. And in all honesty they can still do a tour with Mark on EXTRA, if u remember they had a camera go with him when he did the basketball thingy so they could do that again ...... then he could tour PLUS still have his 9-5 job at Extra ...... that way everyone wins!

Well I am a new fan so I can't get enough of them, but I'm wearing out the best of cd so quickly... They were so great in KC but I'm kinda torn about Mark being on EXTRA. I agree with that it's great that he is stil visible and using the degree. But on the otherhand I can't make myself watch it (well I would have to tape it because of the time it's on). I ran home from work one time and watched it. But the EXTRA Mark isn't the one that I really like because it just seems like a skeleton of the real Mark without much of a soul just a pretty face. Where to me the real Mark is on stage where he is fun, expressive and full of soul. But honestly most of us are probably kinda like that at our 9-5 job then our real self gets to come out during the fun time. I think right now we just are visually seeing more of the 9-5 Mark versus the real Sugar Ray Mark that we love. Ok I'm not saying he is a double personality or anything here-I just think he is in a dual role and has to act so appropriately. I just don't like to see him that way on EXTRA. But visually seeing him on EXTRA is better than nothing at all but personally if I need a Mark fix I just rewatch my videos from the KC concert. I just hope there will be more of the soulful Mark for me to watch soon. Because I NEED more!!!

Oh don't get me wrong ..... I absolutely positively LOVE seeing Mark on stage he's so wonderful and alive and loving life and all the guys look as if they were born to do this. But personally I do love seeing Mark on EXTRA also .... and I will admit that he's the only reason that I watch it and that I hardly ever miss an episode; tho I must admit that I think they put more make-up on Mark then they do Dayna (and I honestly just don't understand that at all)! I think if Mark is happy doing EXTRA then we as fans should be truly happy and excited AND supportive for/of him. Plus he's still doing his music thing also . So they didn't just leave us high and dry there either ...... I mean even if we get a EP it will still be better than nothing. I hope they come out with another killer song like "fly" again to put them back on the map and remind ppl that they r here and that they rn't going anywhere anytime soon! Plus I would like another new video for our guys, ya know ..... I think the last new video we had was Mr. Bartender.
Awwww *signs* but man I agree with u Heaven I just absolutely love the sound of Mark's voice, and I turn more and more ppl on to it all the time. I can't tell u how many ppl r like who's Sugar Ray (when I'm talking about them) and then when I tell them or let them hear a song by SR (and of course we always do the most popular ones) ppl r like "Oh Yeah, I've heard this song before I just never knew who sung it" and I always think ..... they really need someone better to market for them ..... get their names and sounds out there

I think you guys are all right. We enjoy him in both roles, but want more on the music side. Rodney did tell me at the m&g in CT that they have something in the works and that it will be a soundtrack to a movie. So that is probably where the lp/ep thing is getting started. I don't know what movie, but I bet if we search the internet we could figure it out.
