There are only 233 registered members on this MB and of those, only 44% have posted and of those 44% that have actually posted, 67% have posted less than 10 times.

From over 2000 to a little over 200 and maybe 30% of those actually active. Actually more like 5% of registered members active more recently.

Depressing...

The guys really need to do a full tour or something SOON or they'll no longer have much of a fan base at all.

Hey there could be a bright side to this??? All the more reason to do a personal gig for the boardies!!!!

I think that a boardies show would be amazing! But, they need to make more fans too. They need a tour a FULL one yes I agree and they need it soon! If not I don't think that they will be able to keep some of the fans that they have now and they wont get any new ones! I mean well always be here for them but, others may not be.

They really do need a full length tour though hitting as many cities as possible to show people that they are still a band. Since Mark started on EXTRA, everyone thinks Sugar Ray is no more. The media are constantly associating Mark with that d*mn show now instead of the band and then the "Best Of" was in the works and released along that time and the majority think that was the farewell CD. Mark's timing joining that show couldn't have been sh*ttier.

And when should they do a tour now when Mark is working an EXTRA every day????

OMG you guys are soooo depressing!!!! I hope they have something real GOOD up their sleeves.

It is a sad fact but, it is true that there aren't to many boardies anymore at all. Even some of the people that are suppose to be moderators of the board don't ever come out here it seems like. I really think that it was a bad move for Mark to join Extra, I mean at first I thought it was great for us to get to see him ever night but, I never thought that it would make things the way that they are now. I would hate to see them come to an end over something like that. We have all put alot of years, time and money into the band and not to mension ALOT of support. But, you can look at the board now and see who really cares ya know? I mean there maybe some reasons that some of the other fans don't post but, I don't know. It is SOOOO SAD! I miss out guys!!

Well in Mark's words he said our last 2 albums didn't exactly light the world on fire. So thats why he took the Extra job. A mans gotta eat. Besides he getting the Sugar Ray name out there. Even if they say former. We all know thats not true. Everybody blames Mark for all this. What about the other guys? They were the ones wanting the break besides Craig. Most of us all know what it's like to raise a family, and wanting to spend time with them. I was starting to believe that this was the end, but if they said they are doing a new cd then we still have hope. So instead of moaning about it lets just sit back and wait, and I enjoy seeing Mark on Extra. We can moan about the boardie situation I totally agree on that.

Nobody is blaming him Cindy, just saying his timing couldn't have been worse. It's the media that makes it seem that Sugar Ray is over. Lack of record sales, Lead Singer becomes tv show host, band puts out best of cd. The media just takes all that and runs with it and that's why I said it was sh*tty timing because in the media's eyes, that just confirmed that it was over for the band. And as you know, just from the posts on this board, people do believe what they read and hear. H*ll Mark was called on his job for pete's sake and asked if he was sr*wing Pamela just because the media said he was. Mark should do what makes him happy but needs to choose, not sacrifice one for the other and I doubt he'd have a problem eating. The man is everywhere and you know he's getting paid, even before EXTRA. And yes, agreed, the guys needed a break...family time but in light of what's going on, it's time to get back out there, show the world they still are a band, regain their fan base and fan confidence and then take a break. Everything has to end and Sugar Ray will end some day but it's better to go out on top or at least being remembered for that last amazing album and keeping the respect and following of the fans to the end. The guys have worked so hard to get where they are, I'd just hate to see them go out like this.

And yes it's depressing Bev but I'm sharing the depression just as I share the love. As a true fan you want to speak out to other true fans and let them know how you feel.

Well I still say you can't rush perfection. Mark signed up for a 2 year contract so who knows if he is gonna renew after Sept. 06. Murphy even told Regina (she won the dinner with him) that they all want to get back to work. He asked her what she would like to hear on their next cd. She said she liked the Self titled cd the best. That one had a few more rocking tunes on it so lets hope so.

No you can't rush perfection because it doesn't exist. You can only hope and strive to come close. Self titled was close. It's sad that people never really had the chance to hear that album, well besides the hard core fans that would have bought it anyway. That album was satisfactory for all IMO, it showed the rock side of Sugar Ray and their softer more popier side. That album more than any the guys have done showed how musically diverse this band is and that's a good thing. And hats off to Regina for mentioning the self-titled to Murf.

On another note, the guys have had a few years to write because they haven't really toured much and the "Best Of" was music they'd already done on previous albums so hopefully they'll have some really good work to put on the next CD.

Easy ways to whip up a little attention. Especially IF THEY ARE ALREADY GOING TO PERFORM...which they are.

And, the acoustic benefit that they're doing would make a great recording. Imagine releasing the tracks on CD or iTunes or ANYWHERE, with the proceeds going to Music for a Cure. Who here DOESN'T think that would generate a lot of money for such a worthy cause? And, the cost would be...what? The cost of bringing some recording equipment along...

Sugar Ray still has a lot of options at this point...if they want to take advantage of them...

But, as Cindy said, I can see why they'd want to be with their families and relax. They deserve it.

Sugar Ray still Rocks my world! I just wish it would happen more often! LOL!
