I got home from a fun night of babysitting and turned on my TV to watched some shows I TiVo'd. I forgot about this "Warped Weekend - No Doubt" I recorded. I was watching it because No Doubt is my second favorite group in the whole world and any chance to see them on TV is a must. Well, the show played videos from artists that have been on the Warped Tour since it began. They showed the video "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" by The Offspring. As I was watching it I was thinking "Man this looks very similar to Fly with a little Every Morning mixed in. I wonder if McG did the video." I did a little research on the internet and low and behold here's what I found:
(McG's credits include the Gap khaki ad featuring line dancers set to Dwight Yoakam's rendition of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and some of the brightest, most enjoyable videos of the late '90s, including Sugar Ray's "Fly" and "Every Morning" (both of which he also co-wrote), Fastball's "The Way," Smash Mouth's "Walkin' On the Sun" and "All Star," The Offspring's "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" and "Why Don't You Get a Job," and Barenaked Ladies' "One Week.")
That McG is one very talented man. I so wish he'd become an actor as well. The Punk'd episode he did with Katie Holmes was so funny and he even had me going. That's just my opinion, but I just thought I'd pass along this bit of trivia for you folks out there that have the brains made of sponge like me. I love cool trivia like this.
