As mentioned in an earlier post, I went on an 18-state, 6,600-mile cross country trip, starting in my home of L.A. and getting as far east as Cleveland, Ohio. Here are some of the highlights...in no particular order.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame- What an amazing place! I highly recommend it. There is so much to say that I will do a separate post about it! Chicago and awesome pizza!- Chicago is quite an interesting place to see. We parked by Soldier Field, walked around, drove on Michigan Ave. downtown and headed to Wrigley Field. The Cubs were in Milwaukee that day (a game we would see that night), so we walked around and ate GREAT pizza at a bar/restaurant called Murphy's just outside Wrigley's centerfield bleachers. I want to go back and spend a few days there!! Baseball games!!- We went to three baseball games...Kansas City, Cincinnati and Milwaukee. Quite fascinating to see games in stadiums you see only on TV. Cincinnati's new stadium was awesome...we made it in time for the game too, leaving that morning from K.C. I thought Royals Stadium (now named for their owner) was really cool! Drunks in Milwaukee!!- the good folks in Milwaukee really love their booze. I went to the Brewers-Cubs game and the tailgaters were all over the parking lot...blitzed before the game even started. I saw three different drunk women when going to the bathroom in the 8th inning. Party-town Cincinnati- I couldn't believe the nightclubs and partying going on in Cincinnati and right across the river in Kentucky. Unfortunately, I had to get to bed early or I would have joined them!! I didn't see a lot of attractive women on my trip (my type aren't a huge percentage of those states I went to!), but Cincinnati and Chicago had the best! Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind.- What a beautiful college and campus...just took my breath away! Golden Dome, Touchdown Jesus, Football stadium, amazing church. Really enjoyed it!! Mt. Rushmore and the Harley dudes- I visit Mt. Rushmore during the Sturgis Rally week...700,000 Harley Davidson bikers all over the place. What a trip. You gotta see Mt. Rushmore once in your life! Denver, Colorado- Very physically beautiful city, but too white. I was hoping to see more Latinas than I did there! Also a little creepy. Think of all the crap that has happened there...JonBenet, Kobe, Columbine, the Colorado University football scandal. Montana and Idaho...hidden treasures!- Northern Idaho and Western Montana are quite beautiful places with very few people living there. Missoula, Montana is really a cool city! My sister and her husband are building a house near Sandpoint, Idaho and a big lake with a French name. Quite a beautiful site!! |

the rock hall is AWESOME... I loved it. So much to see, lots of history.
I just went to Denver/Boulder last month, and holy crap it was spectacular! I really want to go back. It's fun to travel, I wish I could drive all over the country! :P ~it's all happening~ |

We left Missoula, Montana on a Saturday morning. We went a little north and then to Highway 200, going northwest, towards Idaho. We stopped at a town called Trout Creek, Montana, not too far from the state line. We met my sister who was participating in the Huckleberry Festival Parade in Trout Creek...lol! So I had the chance to see a 20-minute small town parade.
We then drove about 40 minutes to the house they are building in Hope, Idaho, just east of Sandpoint. Very beautiful part of the country, and not very crowded by any means. |
