Sorry for the belated response to this, but...

Why the defensiveness? I did not like "Kill Bill" all that much. So you did not like "The Matrix" all that much. People have different tastes. Why use such belittlement in your tone?

I could give a list of why my preferences are what they are, but you seem so protective of your "value" system, I doubt I could have a rational coversation with you on this topic.

Vacancy - To my surprise, pretty good, until the lamest bullshit gum drop Walt Disney ending ever for an R rated horror/thriller I've ever seen.

Fracture - Silence of the Lambs part deux, but still pretty decent.

Hot Fuzz - Awesome.

I just saw the Cro Cop vs Gonzaga fight on UFC 70 and Gonzaga scored a huge upset victory over Cro Cop via right leg kick to the head which is ironic because Cro Cop is known for his vicious left head kick and Gonzaga is grappler. this has been the biggest upset of the year by far.

Cro Cop is considered number 2 heavy weight in the world, not anymore though

The Hoax. I'd give it 3 or 3.5 stars. definitely worth a watch on the DVD if you don't want to spend a lot of money at the movies. Spiderman 3. good stuff but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than the first two like a lot of people are. see it on the big screen or skip it altogether.

I've seen people the media have been interviewing after they come out of the movie saying that. I didn't say everybody, just quite a few. notice one of them wasn't me.

spider man 3 was bad. So many holes in the plot line like harrys butler telling him about how his father died

Pirates of the Caribbean. I could've done without some of the scenes and the wedding ceremony in the midst of a pirate fight was quite cheesy but overall I thought it was entertaining. Ocean's 13. good stuff but why do they have to ruin the good parts by showing all of them in the previews?

agreed. good movie, but the good parts were the previews. most of them, anyway. but i must say, 13 was much much better than 12. anyone else hear that 12 was some random script they had laying around that they decided to turn into an ocean movie? heard that rumour, wouldn't doubt it.

Ocean's 13 is a waste of time. The best parts of the movie appear in the trailer, so go and watch the trailer. And that's all. Ah ok, David Holmes music fits the thing perfectly and it is a noticeable soundtrack. And that's really all.

Two films...

Mini's First Time (2007)- Alec Baldwin, Luke Wilson, Nikki Reed, Jeff Goldblum, Carrie-Anne Moss
- Nikki Reed has sure grown up since Thirteen! What a stunningly beautiful girl. She plays another sleazy character who hooks up with her stepfather (Baldwin) to engineer the death of her psychotic mother (Moss). Wilson plays the detective on their trail. We need more R-rated movies like this that push the envelope in an intersting way, in this milquetoast PG-13 movie world.

The Rapture (1991)- Mimi Rogers, David Duchovny, Will Patton
- One of the most intriguing movies I have ever seen. Rogers' character has a horrible job and an empty life until she finds God, becomes a born-again Christian and undergoes the ultimate test of faith. The ending was quite surprising. The way the characters transform themselves is quite fascinating. This is just a very unique experience as a film that kind of stays with you!

you couldn't just post "The Happening". I'm not trying to be rude, but to post a huge movie poster then say it's the worst movie you've ever seen... I mean, come.... on.

In other news, I watched "Fight Club" for about the 50th time. Best. Movie. Ever.

I didn't know it was that huge until I posted it.

I can find a bigger one though.

An hour has passed and I can't edit it. Sorry!

Who the hell cares? Far more important things to bitch about.

I agree. The happening was HORRIBLE. I always like the concepts of his films but I think most would agree the Shyamalan needs to hire GOOD writers, GOOD producers, and just stick to directing. He's got a great imagination but the execution of his ideas leaves much to desire and they usually end up being corny and not in the least intelligent. THere are always so many loose ends and loopholes.

FOr instance, one part in the movie, the guy is warning the others to step off his porch (he is locked up and boarded up his house inside and the others want to get in). He doesn't want the "toxic gas" to get in, yet the most he has covering his windows are rickety window covers! So lame.

Fight Club is tied with Old School for being my favorite movie.

My friend is reading the book and he says it's as good as the movie. Which means the book must be fucking brilliant cause the movie is fucking God. I can't stress it enough as the best movie ever.

As for Shymalan, his only good movies were "Signs", "Unbreakable" and "The Sixth Sense". Everything else was shite. I didn't even quite understand what "The Village" was about.

Yeah Fight Club is part of the "Big 3" for me...along with all 3 old Star Wars movies (I combined them into one) and Jurassic Park.

The Village was about a group of people starting their own isolated community to escape violence of present day society. They created fake monsters to scare the people into wandering too far off the grounds and discover the present world. The father of the red haired chick actually dressed up in the costumes to make the other (younger) community members believe the monsters in the woods were real. His daughter continues to believe they exist because Adrien Brody's character dresses up in it to after her, which is instigated by his infatuation with her. That's basically it. I actually liked this one better than signs, the sixth sense, and unbreakable.

The Fight Club book is alright. There's a lot of books out with the style of writing now so it isn't really one of my top.
