Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Does anyone know if that so-called real-live footage of the cop getting taken out at the end of the movie is real?

I really liked it, I enjoyed all the Jungian symbology and the metaphysical/spiritual/religious themes. Hugh Jackman has really impressed me with this movie and The Prestige. Certainly a step up from the slashing and grunting Wolverine.

Saw four movies in the last four weeks. Borat, which was everything I hoped for. The Prestige, which I liked, but not as much as Nolan's other films. The Fountain, which is not only the best movie I've seen all year, but maybe one of the best I've seen ever. And then last night, The Illusionist, which wasn't very good.

I just saw Tideland, which I actually liked quite a bit. But no wonder it didn't or won't see theatrical release over here. It's Gilliam's best since 12 Monkeys. It's uncompromising and innocent. Brave, captivating, polarizing. It's a shame so many people in this country are so closed-minded. I think most would automatically be repelled by some of the subject matter and think of it as glorifying or pardoning it, which it's neither. It just is what it is.

Blood Diamond. Thought it would suck, turned out to be awesome. The trailer is a bit misleading, it is a nonstop, two and a half hour pure and brutal action movie. I haven't seen a movie with a body count this high since Private Ryan.

Scoop. one of the worst movies I've ever suffered through. Syriana. slow and jumpy but I did like it. not sure about all the hoopla though.
