I've been watching Lost. Any other fans?

I did not like this film. The story was just ugh and some of the acting annoyed me. I have been wanting to check out Todd Solondz so I went with this first. I like seemingly normal happy families that you think have the life but what you don't know is that on the inside they're fucked. -------------- Cheryl: I thought you didn't like talking to people. Larry: I don't like talking to people I know. Strangers, I don't have a problem with. |

I liked In the Bedroom specifically because of the acting. But I wouldn't watch it again.
Napoleon Dynamite - My new favorite 2004 comedy, dethroning Dodgeball. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Hm...fun. But didn't cover enough to be even a decent substitute for the book. Collateral - Gotta agree with (I think) tainted gebus: Fun, but nothing special, and a dull ending that made me question the quality of the rest of the movie. A stop sign A chance to clear my mind before the work day Then a right turn Is where I catch another glimpse of the highway |

I like Todd Solondz now. He has a way of depicting really sad characters...he's unsympathetic. or maybe it's just the viewer..? I loved this! I had no idea how it was shot prior to viewing. It looks like it could be a really old film from the 20's. The way the competition was held to determine what country made the saddest music in the world, lovely. It was so bizarre, it was wonderful. I'd say this is one of the most unique films I have seen. -------------- Cheryl: I thought you didn't like talking to people. Larry: I don't like talking to people I know. Strangers, I don't have a problem with. |

Oh yes, check it out then!
Tonight I watched the Golden Globes. I was surprised by the winnings of Natalie Portman and Clive Owen. I wasn't dissapointed, I just was really not expecting either of them to win. Clint Eastwood winning for best director made me mutter death threats under my breath. Thank goodness that The Aviator won Best Drama. I was so excited that I nearly jumped for joy (I clapped and screamed instead.) Right before Nicole Kidman announced the winner, I said to myself, "Million Dollar Baby" while rolling my eyes. Hearing The Aviator ahh man that made my night. The Aviator winning for best score=great. Too bad that Eternal Sunshine didn't win anything. I even caught Charlie in the audience. Before the commercial break or just coming back from a commercial I saw Quentin Tarantino talking to Scorsese. The only thing I want at the Oscars is for Scorsese to win Best Director. I don't care who the other winners are. -------------- Cheryl: I thought you didn't like talking to people. Larry: I don't like talking to people I know. Strangers, I don't have a problem with. |

quote: Yes. It's my second favorite show on television this year. I'm really looking forward to the movie. I'm reading the books (currently on 2 of 5) right now. |

Just got back from Million Dollar Baby. Fucking good. Eastwood and Swank deserve what they are winning, but there were a few glaring flaws in the story. Overall it was very moving, in a non-gay way.
Hilary Swank is probably the most believable actress around. No melodrama, and nothing about her that exudes "I'm a huge star and I want to be on the cover of every starfucking magazine concurrently" like Nicole Kidman or Julia Roberts. Also I'm tired of seeing Morgan Freeman in yet another movie playing the same fatherly narrator. Edit: It was much better than Sideways. |

Bought this today, even though the third was just released. Also, K-Mart didn't have the first. |

I watched the entire first season of Curb a couple weeks ago. Larry David is so cool.
A friend suggested that I come over to watch a movie with him.. I was scared only b/c they own some really really shitty movies. I didn't want to go over there and wind up having to sit through some shit. I noticed they owned the first Spider Man so I asked, "do you have Spider-Man 2?" Good thing they did because I did not want to end up trying to stomach harold and kumar. I would've had to leave. ohh yeah, last night I watched all the extras from The Saddest Music in the World. Guy Maddin, the director used only hand held cameras! "No tripods" was a rule on the set. -------------- Cheryl: I thought you didn't like talking to people. I watched Spider-Man again a couple nights ago. It was absolutely terrible.
****************************** Chef Boyardee is meaner stronger less susceptible to diease and more dominant than a male gorilla. He comes to me at night. Willfully opening the locks and bending the bars on my window. Costing me horrendous amounts of money in home burglary devices. He comes to me in my bedroom. Naked, shaved and oiled. Goosebumped thick black arm hairs risen off his skin. Standing in a pool of pizza grease. Barfing up flour. It enters my lungs. I cough. He laughs. He mounts me. I'd like to kick his hot-stinking, macho fuckin' ass. Spawn Again was ravaged by wolves while walking through the woods on LSD, but he made sure this guy would take his place before his vocal box was torn from his throat. |

Very smart. Two thumbs up. The first "talkie." However, the only scenes that use the Vitaphone are the musical numbers. -------------- Cheryl: I thought you didn't like talking to people. Larry: I don't like talking to people I know. Strangers, I don't have a problem with. |
