weight is irrevelent, im overweight for my height but i have a lower bodyfat and more muscle mass then the average american which makes me healthier. Take nephhilim for example, shes a fatass, yes but her bodyfat is whats really causing her to look so fat. I mean if she could lower it, thered be a significant difference in her appearance but not so much in weight. I think you should be asking the question if people are out of shape.

well thats good. about 80% of getting in shape comes from your nutrition so as long as you eat right youl lose weight, have you tried running before breakfast?

i eat under 1700 calories a day.. i think the breakdown i'm supposed to follow is 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat. what i eat could be more balanced, but i make do. heh.. running is something i dont have the endurance for yet.. for cardio i use the elipitcal and stair master (which totally kicks my ass) i appreciate your offer to help. i sorta jumped your case, but weight is a sensitive issue.

no4, you'll always be no1 in my book In Love

yoga people. That's where it's at. A relaxing and stimulating workout and it is really good a toning without weight resistance. Also, it helps for endurance with running.

haha its just a hobby i guess, everyone gives weird advice so its best to study on your own. neph you really know you stuff, well more than me, mine is 40% carb 40% protein 20% fat. Lowering body fat really sucks, I kindof know what youre going through but im glad youve made such great progress and stuck at it

once my back gets back to normal I'm going to try to do a couple of classes a month. it's back to about 80 or 90% now so hopefully it will be soon.

Yeah it's really good for you! It's actually really great for strengthening your core muscles and your back. And the thing is you notice changes right away as far as how you feel and you really feel strength building because at first it is hard and with each consecutive time it gets easier and easier. It's really rewarding, I love it. Also, it isn't boring like a lot of things are for me like running and stuff. I've tried running and it's just too boring for me.

what she said above ^

I run 3.5 miles everyday (weather permitting) and I can attribute it to yoga.

Yoga is extremely rewarding, mind, body and soul.

So with that... namaste.

I'll vouch for yoga's effectiveness as well. If the body AND mind are stimulated and exercised it goes a long way towards maintaining and/or creating a healthy PERSON. There are a lot of people out there with healthy bodies but unhealthy minds. I think yoga is one good method of helping to maintain that necessary balance.
