This might not interest some, or rather most, of you guys but I thought I'd share since it touches on a rather important subject. I'm really very pleased to hear about this since I was pretty upset before when the bill was passed to enable drilling to take place. Hopefully the people in power are wisening up a bit and realizing that there are so many other ways to combat the future energy problems rather than looking for more oil.

I completely agree, STPBaby. I thank you for putting this out there because this is also an issue that means alot to me, and of course, wether we bother to take notice or not, it is important to the welfare of us all. Like you said, ther are many other ways to combat this other than digging
for more oil. Smiler

It's not really the welfare of the human race that upset me as much as it was that I was concerned over the welfare of the wildlife and ecosystems that exist there. Humans notoriously screw themselves over in pretty much every circumstance. But animals are much more innocent and the particular area they were looking to drill in is an area that is extremely sensitive to changes, and no doubt the slightest change would have a huge impact on the environment that exists in the arctic.

i was pissed less about the animals and more about it being a protected refuge..

.. ... .. . . . ..... .. . ...

Roses in a vase of white
Bloodied by the thorns beside the leaves
That fall because my hand is
Pulling them hard as I can

By "the welfare of us all", I beleive I meant any
living creature on this planet. Because it is every single one of us that environment affects.
I can fully understand your anger, STPBaby, towards the human race, as many of us are so destructive and all for very selfish means. I am myself a spiritualist and find it very hard to accept that so many are driven by money and the like.

Yeah, kind of ironic, huh?

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead
