I was wondering if there are any NASCAR fans in here, and if so, who is your favorite driver?

My favorite driver is #42 Jamie McMurray.

I am a fan. My favorite driver is #29 Kevin Harvick. I watch all the races if I can. I am in a Nascar league with 17 other people. That keeps me even more interested. I have only been to one race. I went to the Pennsylvania 500 in 2002. Elliot took the pole and won the shortened race. It was shortened due to darkness. There were 2 looong delays. The first was for a wreck off of turn one and man it was spactacular. Jr T-boned Steve park and sent him tumbling over and over...he took out 6 lengths of railing which had to be replaced. I remember Jr getting out of his car and running across the field to try and help Park get out. Then there was a long rain delay. They went 175 of the 200 laps.
My favorite race to watch is probably the August Bristol race.

I'm a Kasey Kahne fan. I started watching it last year and just became obsessed with it. I went to Spring and Fall Richmond races, Dover in June and to the last running of the Southern 500 at Darlington in November.

Im headed to Dover again in a few weeks Big Grin

me too. beenwatching it for a few years - my brother and his fiancee are big nascar heads. (their honeymoon is gonna be in the poconos and they're gonna go to the race, the crazies...) my favorite driver is now kasey kahne, but it was tony stewart. i'm still a big fan of the #20 home depot, but kahne just had a great rookie year. never seen a race, but i would love to go to one.... bristol is at the top of my list of races to attend.

I was a big Dale Sr. fan and was pretty much heartbroken when he passed.

I rooted for Junior since, but never felt the same way as before about rooting for him.

Then, this season, Carl Edwards came along Smiler

I remembered him from the truck series and how he did backflips off the truck/car when he would win a race, and when they did an interview with him, he just seemed so damn happy to be there...so I finally have a real driver to really root for Smiler

I havn't been to any races, but I would absolutly love to go to one someday...

(I'm going to drive the pace car too one of these days....)

^^^ Sounds good Fuzz. Carl has really come along. He has suprised me with how fast he has caught on with the Nextel Cup guys. Sometimes these young guns will move up and they get out there rubbing fenders with the Veteran's and other well established drivers and they seem to not be able to compete.

But Carl has himself a great season so far.

Nice win for Kahne tonight! I had him in my pool! I'll gladly take the hundred bucks! He was the guy to beat all night, good to finally see him close one out!

I told PLF after qualifying on Friday that he was gonna win because he was faster with his haircut...

Harvick places 5th and the Hendrick boys go out early! An overall good night!

PLF - atleast Carl won the Busch race last night Wink

Im so happy to see Kasey get his first win - im pissed I didnt go to the race (after the experience I had in Richmond last Sept, I wont be going back). FX was out most of the night here so I had to listen to the first 300 laps on the radio. Luckily it came on and I was able to sit and watch the end Big Grin

Wayne - It was Rusty Wallace that flipped Tony Danza.

My favourite driver is Jeff Gordon. My favourite race is Talladega. By the way, the racer against Tony Danza was Rusty Wallace.

i fly out up to charlotte on thursday, anyone else going?

i need to find someone who can beat mcmurray in the open (for my office pool) but i doubt it can be done. he should have won it last year but he and mayfield made contact and let marlin past.

i am thinking burton or rudd, maybe mears as a dark horse...

Eric, as long as Jamie has luck and stays out of wrecks, he will be the man to beat. It would be great for him to make it into the Actual All-Star race this year. Cool

I got a very nice treat last night Big Grin

We went to the Phillies/Cardinals game in Philly and in between innings, Carl Edwards showed up and stole the Phanatic's cart and drove it around the stadium.

I was very very excited Smiler
