What kind of cord or adapter do I need to hook my laptop up to my stereo speakers? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It depends on your sound card. If you have a mid-level card with RCA outputs, you can use standard plugs (Red & White) to run it directly to a receiver or a stereo with AUX inputs.

Clarification: If your laptop has onboard sound (integrated) with the regular small port output plug (like what you would plug standard pc speakers into) you can buy a RCA analog to stereo adapter plug.

You want the one that goes from one plug end and then splits to two standard RCA plug ends (analog to stereo).

You have to run the cable through some sort of receiver that can take normal speaker cable hookups (the pop and twist kind).

i was gonna say look to see what ports are open on your laptop and whats open on the speakers and figure it out from there.. but i think blue knows what hes talking about
