I can't believe I forgot Fill the Fields/Atlanta.
I have to say, some of the responses above make me think the posters are being sarcastic.

Hey I just wanted to slightly correct A-Lit on the Talk Show history. They put together Talk Show quite a while before Scott went solo. While they were having all their problems on Tiny Music, they had a large number of songs they decided to keep for the possibility that Scott wouldn't be with them much longer. The idea of a breakup was apparently going through everyone's heads at the time.
The other guys knew Dave Coutts and started making a list of who they thought would do a better job on each song. Some were decided for Scott and some were for Dave. When the Tiny Music tour disintegrated, they decided it was time to start getting serious about a new band with Dave Coutts. They never officially ended STP. They just formed Talk Show with Coutts while Weiland dealt with his problems.
I seem to remember that this hit Weiland pretty hard and he probably figured it was time to try his hand at a solo project. That's when he began working on 12BB.
I apologize for not being able to cite any of this. I put this together from remembering interviews I'd read and heard at the time. I could be way off base on some of these.
Some other things I remember were that most of the Talk Show songs were written at the same time music for Tiny Music was written. Big Bang Baby could have ended up on Talk Show and some of Talk Show's songs could have been on Tiny Music had Weiland done them. In fact, I believe I heard that Weiland heard the intro to Peeling and Orange and showed an interest. Lastly, Wash Me Down was written (words and music) by Dave Coutts.

Person, thanks for the assist. I didnt know the timing of everything, and that definitely makes it a much more interesting scenario - thanks for correcting me

Hey no problem. Like I said though, my memory may be off since this was a decade ago and I could be way off base on some of this. But I think as far as the timing, I'm probably close. Take care!
