I'm going to this one , and I live in Ottawa. I did 6 or 7 shows in upper NY & Ontario/Quebec last year and have kept all all my stubs. It was a spring/summer to remember.

First a hair update:

Yes, just like when he shaved off his hair last year between the Quebec City and Montreal shows, Mr. Weiland once again has changed his hair style before a show that I attended. No, his hair is not shaved off. Instead it's now just short black hair all the way around (no more Bowie-esque hair style).

And now for the setlist:

* Silvergun Superman
* Wicked Garden
* Vasoline
* Big Empty
* Lounge Fly
* Army Ants
* Sour Girl
* Creep
* Crackerman
* Plush
* Interstate Love Song
* Seven Caged Tigers
* Down
* Sex Type Thing
* Sin
* Unglued
* Dead And Bloated
* Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart

So same setlist as usual but minus Piece of Pie.

Last July I saw STP for the first time ever playing the Bell Centre in Montreal. (In fact, I saw VR in Montreal almost exactly 2 years ago so it's almost becoming a yearly tradition). Tonight in Ottawa, STP put on an absolutely perfect show. I never thought that last year's show could be surpassed by anyone. That is, until tonight.

Tonight was something even more special. Yes, Weiland is not the hyper Weiland of 1999-2002. Yes, no songs off of my favourite album SLDD were played. Yes, no new songs from the forthcoming 6th album were played. Even so, in front of thousands of fans, STP put on the best concert I've ever had the privilege of attending. Weiland's singing was perfect, Kretz's and the Deleo Bros' playing was perfect, the sound was perfect.

The friendship between the band members has never been this good. I have absolutely no doubt that the forthcoming 6th album will be released soon and will not be the last we hear from STP. Weiland introduced the 6th album before Trippin' and called it an awesome album but that it's up to us (the fans) to decide.

And let's put one rumour to rest shall we. STP began their set exactly on time and Weiland entered the stage with the rest of his bandmates. He did not enter after them. Plus, before one of the songs he mentioned that he went fishing with Robert yesterday and today in Ottawa and they caught 2 giant muskies. As I said, the camaraderie between band members is at its best.

It was a magic night in Ottawa. STP somehow exceeded my expectations tonight and have made a new benchmark for other concerts I attend to aspire to. I probably won't attend a better concert until the next time the greatest rock band on Earth comes my way...next July maybe?...
