No New York- Various Artists

A complete New York noise freakout compiled by Brian Eno around 78 I believe to document the hort-lived No Wave movement.. Click on the pic to see it I guess. Highly, highly recomended from yours truly.

Deerhoof- The Runners Four

good times. It's different from their last album being just guitars and whatnot, but just as engaging.

Simple, Beat Happening-esque music which is really good. The cover picture is sort of lame in some kind of 70s cheeseball kind of way, though it came out in 1980, but don't let that fool you.

And some of this:

After further review of the Clap Your Hands kids, I guess I liked them the first time when they were called Galaxie 500, but it's still good, even if the whole thing is a complete rip off. It just doesn't get me randy.

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois

I think Chicago is probably my favorite song to have been released this year.

Hey Rob, have you heard the new version of Mellowdrone's Fashionably Uninvited? It's not at all different from the EP version, but it has a shinier production now, I guess. Still kind of ticked that so many EP songs made it onto "Box."

There are three songs that I've had on repeat... for the last couple weeks.

Aqualung - Brighter Than Sunshine
A Perfect Circle - The Nurse Who Loved Me

This song makes me want to fall in love and get married.

and....

Gorillaz - Demon Days

This song reminds me of a funeral. When I die I want them to play the begining of this song at my funeral. If heaven had a theme song, this would be it. It's amazing. It's so different, whcih makes me love the Gorillaz more.

The Move
'Message From The Country'
Harvest / EMI
***** 5 Stars
Roy Wood & Jeff Lynne's pre-ELO marvel

One listen to this '71 masterpiece, replete with nine extra tracks, shows us where the strand of power-pop chased down by the likes of Cheap Trick was born. The Move's last album, ostensibly a trio effort featuring Jeff Lynne's baroque Beatles insights, Bev Bevan's rock muscle and Roy Wood's insane imagination, it bristles with intent from the black psychedelia of the title track to the Pepper-y 'My Marge'. In between there's warped trucking nightmare 'Ben Crawley Steel Co.' and the druggy acoustic reverie of 'No Time'. Recorded at Abbey Road: essential for ELO kiddies.

I'll join the lazy parade:

Serena Manessh- self-titled (4 days straight, album of the year guys)
Wilco- A Ghost Is Born
Sonic Youth- Daydream Nation

and some other stuff that I can't remember because I've been hopelessly obsessing over Serena Maneesh lately.
