ok people... i have been a staind fan for years now... many of the cops, including myself, down here in east tennessee seem to love the band for some reason... anyways, i noticed a solo in 'everything changes.' this has never been seen in a staind song previously, i dont think, from what i can remember... i think that solo absolutely makes that song stellar. i wish staind did more of this... a quick face melter makes a song so much better i think... plus it also shows killer talent...what do you all think?

I agree. I haven't even heard the song yet, goin to get mine after work but I know what you mean. It really shows the talent. I love a good solo but I also love all of Stainds music and they make it good without it. Maybe this is to say "hey, we can do this too". Can't wait to hear it.

It's a good solo, and it really adds to the song, but the solo in "Reply" is far and away the best on the album. I think it blows the others away.

solos caught me off guard first time i heard the songs. interesting change from how theyve been doing things in previous albums. i definitely liked it, but i can imagine some purists getting pissed off that it's not really staind's "sound" or wudever. or that they're doing it cuz the record label told them to. whatever. sounds good as far as i'm concerned. nothing like mark tremonti's shredding but adding solos shows a bit more of mushok's dynamic.

btw... haha why "face melter"?

U kno, i was jus lookin at the the Chapter V booklet and it says:

All Lyrics written by Aaron Lewis
All songs/music written by Staind blah blah Except for "Everything Changes" and "Reply"

Now does tht mean tht Aaron Lewis wrote the solos? Because if it was Mike Mushok surely it would say written by Aaron Lewis/Mike Mushok. I mean its obviously Mike who plays them but i thort he would have written them too.

Maybe it was actually Aaron who did the solos... or he just wrote the solo for Mike.

This entire album rocks!! When I first heard Everything Changes ... ahhh. When the solo started it threw me though. I don't believe I have ever heard them do one either. The music is awesome on everysong. Especially the drums. Did you hear all the double bass in Paper Jesus? wow. There is actually a couple of solos though. Right? The album is incredible. But hey ... look who it is!!
