I know nothing of the Album "tormented" and i haven't heard the 14 shades of Grey album, but from what i get from you , you like feeling hate, you love depression , you want everyone to be mad. I don't think the band would like you very much, what i get from this band is that they have problems and they express it in their music, they are not trying to be kings of depression, but they just letting us know how they feel , when i hear a song like "So Far Away" (from the 14 shades album) thats why i like these guys music, its not about rolling in hate and anger and lovong it, it about reaching out for peace. Thats eventually what all humans want, no matter how weird or violent you are, its peace that you rally want. (peace at least with yourself).

if what Staind Wants is for them to have mindless zombies behind them, well ffine, im not a true fan. but if its to appreciate their work and understand them through their work as individuals, then i'm a fan. And i don't mean the kind of knowing them where someone becomes some guru on all things "sttaind" cuz they don't have a life , but just to appreciate them, and i do intend to get their last 2 albums (as far as i know is Chapter
V and 14 S O G)

and sorry bud i have a life, and busy life, and i consider myself a huge fan who knows ALOT about staind, but i know there are people on this board who know more and are probly bigger fans.. so does that mean they dont have lives?? its people like you that make this board as dead as it is

Well then maybe its doesn't apply to you. there is a saying where i am from "who the cap fits, let him wear it". not cuz u know alot of stuff above staind means i'm talkin about people like you. and why are u being all one-sided ?some onther dude said that i'm not a fan cuz i don't know the album tormented. When i was younger i used to listen to the B.T.C album for hours, and i wish i could be around people who felt like the way that i did. I know exactly what is mean't on every song of that CD, just becuase i haven't been able to follow the progression of staind as you have does that make me less a fan . You are cussing me about preaching what the hell are you doing ?

Wow I started this thread like a year ago and it still holds true. I gotta admit I like the ballads of Staind,but hopefully they read this and will go back to old school by there next album. Even if someone has to take away all there money(if only temporarily) and make them all miserable again so they will have angrier,better music.

I thought it was "14 shades of shit" well it's been awhile since I even looked at that album maybe I'd better double check..

Tormented is great...I'd concede that...But, 14 SOG is a great album also...It's just different...Tormented is like a time capsule containing what they were like musically (and perhaps otherwise), but it's all a part of their/our history...You clearly like the harder stuff...but how can you dispute the validity and greatness of the writing in 14 SOG? Lyrically speaking, I feel like that's one of the best...That's what separates this band from others...within their catalog, you can find music that fits every mood...I know what you're saying...I get it...I've heard it before...But, like my friend Kat says..."Staind is love"...

I am personally hooked again to 14SOG. It has been in the cd player again for the past 2 weeks and I have fallen in with it all over again!

I heard it like twice and threw it on the back burner and never looked back. I've got a Black Label Society CD spinning round and round nonstop-and it has a ton of ballads-but they've all grown on me.
Don't get me wrong Staind have a lot of great songs. I just thought 14 Shades was there "we're rich and now we're happier and our music sucks now" phase where the last Chapter 5 was decent. That's just my opinion.

Hell no 14 shades of grey was one of their best cds. At first i thought, what kind of staind fan are you, then i figured you out...your one of those so called fans who just listens to the hits and doesn't appreciate good music.

Yeah, not only that this guy like only the "hits" but the angrier ones, the ones when staind is lashing out at th world, this dude doesn't know anything about the good stuff staind puts out. 14 Shades of Grey have some kick asss songs on there . Staind is cool !!!!! Righteous dude !!!!!!!!!

Obviously, they have mellowed somewhat...But, when they play "Break" live...you just know that they are capable of playing hard shit anytime they decide to...I love all of their albums, and...depending on my mood...I listen to "Tormented"...The first time I heard 14 SOG, I admit...I didn't like it as much...But, when I really listened...I realized I was wrong...I had a different expectation that clouded my judgement...The last half of that album (the part that no one played on the radio)is the greatest...Play it again...You'll see...
