serioulsly man, i just listened to it again for kicks and i sit there wondering if i'm listening to the same thing these other people are. now, i know its their favorite band and whatnot, but c'mon, it sounds like a garage band trying to cover that song. The drumming is completely off, the guitar misses notes like crazy, and halfway through it sounds like the bass just stops playing. I'm not trying to be mean about it, but this is what i'm hearing. It was a really weak effort

i think he's just talking about that tool-ish "vibe" in the verse vocals of some songs. the two voices together but not really in harmony. it's something that tool/apc does, right?
dude have you even heard a tool song? nothing on this cd sounds like tool, the vocals dont, the music definatly not the guitarists for staind and tool dont sound at all alike in any way besides the fact that mushok uses a baritone guitar and has a more detuned sound than the tool guy, the only time i heard them sound like tool is when they covered the song SOBER in an accoustic performance

im gonna semi- back this guy up here on one song... the first time i heard the chorus to paper jesus i did get a tool vibe until i listened to it 5 or 6 times. After I really listened to it i think they were night and day but the first time, i felt the same way dude

I ABSOLUELY LOVE TOOL aswell as STAIND but as much as i love staind i dont think they could ever be measured up to tool they're fuckin incredible..schism and parobol..what the hell...genius!!
listen to devil...the verse i wanna say.....just listen close to aarons voice....its got ike the harmonic talking like maynard....and same with the verse from falling...the guitars r like that picking sliding shit and the vocals are low n quiet.
i respect your opinion, some people hear stuff differently...but i completely disagree...and the cover staind did of sober, was horrible...love staind, love tool, hated the cover...for one, they slowed it way down...and im not bashing stainds drummer, but i think he was the main reason they slowed it down so much...i dont know many drummers that can play like danny...he is INSANE
