Does anyone else sense the word 'gimmick' all over this? I mean, how long has the album been out, 3 weeks maybe? and now theres going to be a new version of it? so now all the people that bought the album 3 weeks ago will have to buy the album again.. i smell a plot here. perhaps this is their way of making up for declining sales.. why couldnt they have waited a month to release it and just make one album with these bonus songs?

chapter V has been selling great. and this new cd actually seems to be worth it. its not just like a dualdisc with 1 video on it. theres a lot of stuff going to be on it.

no i wasnt talking about this albums sales in particular, its no secret that 14SoG wasnt exactly the best seller they were hoping for. but even if the new material makes it 'worth it', it still seems pretty crappy that they just didnt hold off for a month so people didnt have to buy two album with 90% of the same material. i think someone in the marketing department is really earning their paycheck on this one

If people do not like it they don't have to buy it, I don't mind having two copies, one for the house...one for the car is the way I look at it. I mean I wouldn't go out for every band who does this, but in this case I can make an exception.

I agree with every word u said they should have waited and maybe changed a few extra bucks. I'm sure its not Stainds fault tho it's Atlantic cause when Aaron spoke about the release he said it was going to be like a book opening to all the chapters and a DVD. He didn't say it was just a cd and then down the road rerelease with dvd.

i know we'd all like to think that the bands we love wouldnt do certain things like this, but you cant kid yourself. a band knows every step that goes into the making and release of their cd.

well thats one way to look at it, some people dont mind buying two cd's. but think of it this way, its those kinds of people that let bands and record companies get away with things like this. and they are getting away with something here, dont think they're not. it may not bother you because you enjoy supporting the band, but this action they're taking isnt a fair tactic by any means

Oh I totally understand the scam, it is shady, and wrong, and all, but i'll be damned i still want the dvd.

it definitely is a gimmick, but then again, so is every single dualdisc. tons of bands do this. this rerelease actually seems to be worth the money though. i am surprised they didnt wait till next year to put it out, since the cd came out only 2 months ago.

your getting the cd with 4 different tracks, a book and a dvd. its not like its the same cd. what about all of you complaining when the cd came out and there was no dvd. well here it is

well thats exactly my point, its not so much thats its a dualdisc thats the issue, its the fact they are releasing it after the original album came out only a few weeks ago. they really should have just waited

thats the problem, they knew they were going to put out a cd with all this material on it, so why not just hold off a month on the release date and just make this the official album? this is nothing but a marketing gimmick, and unfortunately they're going to get away with it, instead of it being recognized for the cheap ploy that it is.

I second tht. They should have jus released this originally but i guess the record company jus wanted to get the album out as fast as possible. I dnt have much money at the moment but i might try and get a copy, i might sell my old copy and then use tht to get the new one. Does anybody know the price of the new release? Its not gonna cost more than a normal album right?

To be honest im not tht shocked tht a record company's realeasing another version of an album a couple of months after the first. I dnt think this is as disgraceful as wot happened with the European tour. I cant believe they got away with tht.

Yeah, I was hoping for a mini-CD or maybe a DVD that came with a bonus CD not this stuff.

Oh, well, guess I'll save up whatever money I can get to buy it.

i really don't care if the cd is coming out too soon...it's not soon enough if you ask me.
