Even better, its biggest practitioners either wore clown masks (Slipknot, Mudvayne) or clownish hairstyles (Limp Bizkit, Korn) and are now deservedly hobbling along near extinction. But Staind, the most gimmick-free group of the lot, has somehow slipped under the radar, subjecting the public to a fifth album of crushing riffs and histrionic cliches. No it's not, it's actually pretty good. Bit prejudiced, perhaps, but the dude knows how to be critical without really being critical, which isn't easy to do.

If I can play Devil's Advocate for a moment.. I'd like to point out that selling alot of records does NOT always equal talent. and if you're the type of person that bases merit on sales, then by that rationale you'd have to say that Britney Spears, and those American Idol kids are some truly talented motherfuckers. There are quite a few Pop, Country, and Rap artists that rival AND SURPASS Stainds sales

Slipknot are at the top of their game. They're selling out shows and have sold more albums than anyone have dreamed. Korn is wrapping up their new album which is gonna fuckin kick ass. Mudvayne haven't had paint for a loong time which doesnt have jack shit to do with anything. they sound fuckin insane. I dont realy give a shit about Limp but as for staind, Theyre just a great band. Fuck that dude.
