I know someone has probably already posted this but I like a line from "Fray":
"So never again will I look back in vain, cause today's not the past I don't need to re-live it..." I have a tendency to get myself stuck in the past and dwell on things, so this line is inspirational to me.

There's just too many from all of the albums that they've released. Right now I'm stuck on the son 'Blow Away' from the 14 Shades of Gray album. Not one word in that song do I disagree with or feel distant from. So much depth, truth and emotion are in that song. It touches me deeply as do so many songs that touch so many of us out there. I belive that the privelage of listening to STAIND is a constant & on going miracle that I shall never discard from my life, faith & state of mind...

Couldn't have said it better myself.

And yes, Blow Away is amazing. It's one of my favorites

I love the lyrics in "So Far Away" -

"Now that we're here,
It's so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
All the mistakes,
One life contained
They all finally start to go away
Now that we're here its so far away
And I feel like I can face the day
I can forgive and I’m not ashamed to be the person that I am today"

I'm not sure exactly why STAIND doesn't get the credit that they deserve. I know that they have me as a loyal and dedicated fan. However, I've never seen them in concert. I've heard that they don't say anything to the fans, they just finish the songs, get up & walk off stage without saying a word. Is that true? I can't hardly fathom that it is. Their music just doesn't give me that perception of them in my head at all. Let me know from anyone who may have seen them in concert.

That's just the most comprehensive way of putting how STAIND makes me feel. I didn't know how else to put it...?

Aaron talks some, but not a whole lot. He talks a lot on his solo shows, but not at Staind concerts.

Aaron believes that you are there for the music, and the music only. I mean, isn't that the reason we all started to love Staind or any band? Aaron doesn't really like being famous and being in the spot light, so they go on stage, they do what they do best, and it kicks ass every single time.

When I have talked to the guys at meet and greets they are all extremely down to earth. It's not like they are rude and thats why they don't preach at concerts like Brent from Shinedown lol.

So, pretty much, they do get up without talking to the fans? Aaron talks a little that's good enough for me. I just love listening to peoples' concepts & perceptions on anything this life throws at us. But, you're right; I do NOT want to be preached to. I love SHINEDOWN's music but I didn't know that they try to preach to the peaple that listen to their music. I don't like anything being 'pushed/forced' on me at all so I kind of lose respect for the band.

It's not a bad thing, Brent is just very passionate about people sticking up for themselves and not taking shit from people. It's actually quite inspiring sometimes. Their concerts are always amazing.

You're right. That's not a bad thing. & I firmly do beilive that. I'd just have to experience SHINEDOWN'S walk offs and see how hard he preach yaknow. I give SHINEDOWN all the credit in the world, why? Because their talented and they play kick-ass music, ya know?
I just won't know if I really do lose respect for them until I see them live & walk off...

What are you talking about? Have they done that?

I've never seen SHINEDOWN in concert so I'm not sure. I've heard lots of great things about SHINEDOWN's performances but never heard anything about their 'stage exits' until I read some posts on this website. Ya know?

i've never heard anything about that... i've seen them live 3 or 4 times and they never did anything bad...

are you talking about stage exits like Axel Rose style?? just walking off in the middle of the concert? I can't imagine them ever doing that

No. Not Axel style. But after the music is all said and done. Does SHINEDOWN talk to the fans, preach, joke around or just plain get up & walk off?

Excess Baggage, Blow Away, and For You probobly have the most meaning to me.

Then again, I'm 16 and full of cynical teen angst.

Hmm, probably So Far Away, Outside, and Everything Changes hit me the hardest of their songs.

"I'm so afraid of waking. Please don't shake me. Afraid of waking. Please don't shake me!" That part always gives me goosebumps and hits hard.
