well first of all i use to like godsmack a lot when they first came out. well im kinda mad. IF you didnt know , godsmacks got that sun symbols from layne stayely and Alice in chains. they kinda changed it a little bit but it looks pretty much the same to me. and second godsmack use to be a alice in chains cover band so maybe its just a symbol of much they love AIC. but the thing that pisses me off the most is that there new album is going to be called "IV" wow there fourth album. sounds pretty familar to Chapter V which was stand 5th album. man im ticked.

hahaha ohhhh man. seriously, if you think Staind was the first to corner the market on naming albums after their release number you're sadly mistaken. if you wanna go that route then you'd have to say that Staind copied Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zeppelin, etc... this wasnt some new concept Staind thought up here

ahhh *geeks out* haha, I have to agree with lord here...and it isnt like they are naming it "Chapter IV'....plus when I first look at IV it reminds me of an IV hooked to your veins..idk...I like godsmack either way, its just the name of an album?

not to mention, its fairly common for bands to name their 4th or 5th album just as that number since its a bit of a milestone.

Godsmack was actually an AIC song. and why do you say they are un-original? i love alice in chains, and so many bands were influenced by them. okay so the symbol could be alike, but big deal. lots of bands are influenced by others. Staind (Aaron Lewis), i remember hearing Aaron was an AIC fan and wrote Layne for 14 Shades Of Grey after hearing of Laynes death in 2002. Godsmack were AIC fans and named their band after an AIC song. im sure if i started a band id take aspects of all the music i listen to, pieces from Staind, Disturbed, Alice In Chains.
Alice In Chains were absolutely amazing are still are to me, and im glad people still listen and take ideas from them. Staind and other bands could have completely different sounds than they do. the only band i really like that came out of Seattle was AIC...i was never much of a Nirvana fan. all i know is Laynes sound and voice is heard everywhere. yeah sorry i went off so much, but i do not think Godsmack is un-original RIP Layne Staley 1967-2002 I Fear Again Like Then I Lost My Way Then Shout To God To Bring My Sunny Day |

dude i have nothing against alice in chains they are my top three bands on my list. i was talkinag about godsmack. they are good band and a lot of people are influenced by aic but i mean cmon u know. its a litte to much. and i was refering to that godsmack named their fourth albvum IV and its little too soon becasue staind just named their album V. and they are both from mass. geez. i love alice in chains3
