Ok, so most of us have a particular genre that we like or enjoy that, in most circumstances, we would never admit to liking in public or amongst acquaintances. Maybe you're the 6'4" 300lbs jacked up meathead who adores BSB's love songs, or you're the 4'10" 90lbs girl who rocks out to death metal, or you're just the average Joe who listens to not-so-average Joe music.

This discussion is meant for you to reveal what YOUR guilty pleasure genre is, without any social repercussions!

I will start it off by saying that mine is christian-rock, or christian-nu-metal is probably a better term for it. Typically, my attitude towards christian-rock (as a Roman Catholic myself) is: hey, if I wanted to listen to music praising Jesus and all that angelic good stuff, I'd go to church to do so. But there are bands like P.O.D., RED, and Relient K (and yes, old-school Creed as well) who create music that I absolutely love. I think it's the underlying positive message (without the intrusive religious msg) layering over the categorically 'dark' sound that truly makes it unique in today's music industry.

So that's my guilty pleasure genre, what's yours?

It's not so much a genre I suppose, but I really really like Elton John. I listen to his stuff all the time--especially his older stuff.

Hahaha, you know what's funny? I think most of my friends would give me more shit for liking Nickelback than they would if I said I became a Village People fan - no joke!

Creed - they were like the Limp Bizkit of adult rock - everyone either worshiped them or despised them. I leaned towards the worshiped crowd, I loved Creed back then, I still do - I just wish Scott Stapp didn't turn out to be the antithesis of the role model he claimed to be.

Late '90s pop music is my guilty pleasure. It's a love-hate relationship....I hate the fact that it was so manufactured and fake but at the same time, it's so catchy and very nostalgic for me.

I'm not even kidding when I say that I've spent hours on YouTube watching music videos from that era and genre.

And hey, ten-year-olds needed SOMETHING to listen to, right?

Oh, and Cher too. =D

haha I loved the 90's. I get what you're saying about the whole nostalgia thing too, every time I hear songs from that time on the radio it always brings me back to the good ol' days..

Creed was a huge one, Creed was the first concert I ever went to. Indigo Girls, old school Eminem, Sheryl Crow, for some reason Pink, and I'm sure there's a lot of others I just can't really think of right now.

compared to rap today, and since about 2005, eminem was the man. he's one of my favorite rappers with B.I.G., 2Pac, Dre, and Snoop. I'm certainly not a big fan of the black music, but those guys can f'n rap

I agree. I'm never ashamed to call myself a fan of Eminem or Tupac.

Forget compared to rap today, Em is da MAN! As good or better than the best, Biggie, Snoop, Tupac, Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, Run DMC, etc. And, I'm not a big fan of rap. But, except for the original shiite, Eminem, Biggie, Snoop, & Tupac OWN!

Don't forget Easy E!

And for some reason I really like the song Throw It Up by Lil' John. Especially if you are in a car with badass subs, it's like a massage cycle.

You'd have to do it to understand.

Haha, my sister's boyfriend used to have a Cavalier with a badass system in it - when I'd ride in the back, he'd blast very bass-heavy rap, so I definitely see what you mean, haha.

I like "Get Low" by Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz....and I like "Salt Shaker," too. Haha.

But I wouldn't readily admit it. Oh, I like Ludacris too, but I'm not ashsmed to say I like him. =p
