Hi everyone. Its been awhile since I've posted, but I wanted to reach out to all of the Shinedown fans myself and let you know what's going on firsthand. We just heard about Jasin's recent troubles in Jacksonville, and our thoughts and prayers are with him. A lot has happened this past year and there has been some changes within the band that we've been meaning to tell you about. I love Jasin like a brother, we all do - he'll always be family and we hope all of the best for him, but, at this time, he's no longer with us in Shinedown. This all went down awhile ago, and I'm sorry to break this news today. I realize that this isn't the best timing, but with stuff like this, there really isn't ever a good time. We just felt like we couldn't wait any longer and had to let you all know. We've brought an old friend into SD - Nick Perri. Nick's an amazing guitarist and we've known him forever from our days on the road with Silvertide (many of you were probably at those shows and remember him too). We also have a new bass player - Eric Bass. Just a fantastic musician and all around great guy - we can't wait for you to meet him. And you will very soon - we're hitting the road next month. I'm also happy to report that the new album is finished and we're so excited to share it with all of you. Its called The Sound Of Madness and will be out this summer. Please stay tuned to the website and radio stations out there…the first song is coming soon. Lastly, I just want to thank you again for all of your support. You're the best fans in the world and the reason we're even here. Without you, there is no Shinedown. Don't ever forget that - we definitely don't.

I will be surprise if this message is not deleted but here are the facts.

FACTS: Jasin did not get convicted of any charges in Jacksonville. He was walking on the road minding his own business when the Jax Beach police (who are known to have fun beating up folks) attacked Jasin for no reason. He has the long hair and a beard so they just assumed he was a bad person. Jasin was visiting his children.

Jasin was getting his life back together but I guess it was not fast enough for Atlantic Records. It is so sad that when you are down, the people that you gave your heart and soul to drop you without a care. Shame on them for dropping him since Brent and Jasin were the reason the fans came...........they were the "performer's".

I hope his fans will believe that Jasin loves each and everyone of them. Shinedown will not be the same without JASIN. Brent and Jasin were SHINEDOWN. Jasin was a MAJOR performer and his fans loved him.

Atlantic Records made this decision not Brent Smith. His hands are tied.

The new guitarist is a great guy. He also lost his job with his band. Jasin and him were close friends. Jasin loved the guy.

Please let Atlanic Records know how you feel about this change. Jasin is better and they need to give him a chance.

He went through a terrible divorce, lost a close friend to drugs, been through rehab and is recovering every day until he got the notice today about he will not be apart of Shinedown any longer.

What has happen to folks taking care of one another? This is not right!

Please let it be known that he was and will forever be the greatest SHINEDOWN guitarist and performer.

I have been hearing the 'rumor' that he 'left' Shindown for a while. But, I heard from people recently that know him or know friends of his that it wasn't true. Well, I guess it wasn't...he didn't leave, the douchebag label got rid of him. The music industry is really getting so pathetic!

Yeah I had heard rumors too, but figured that's all it was. And those rumors have been going on for a while, and apparently all this happened within the last couple of weeks.

well, its unknown if this is REALLY Jasin, but someone on shinedown's board who apparently knows their shit says it is. other people back them up and say this person has credibility.

so Jasin's account was deleted apparently, and he made a new one so he could post this blog:

ever since the beginning, atlantic just wanted Brent and a new band - I remember hearing about that a while ago. jasin mentioned it in his blog too, something about a "brent solo project" is basically what atlantic wanted. And now - Brad and Jasin have departed....Barry has to be freaking out.

HOWEVER. i have never seen a man preach what he believes as strong as Brent does. And, no I don't know exactly what's going on at all, and I could be way out of line by saying this, BUT if he truly believes what he says why isn't he fighting to keep his "family" there. This band has always been about being "Brothers"....you don't just let your brothers get kicked out and pretend like you can't do anything. YOUR FUCKING BRENT! if all this about atlantic is true, YOU are the one they want. So how do you get what YOU want? walk the fuck away. say, "there is no shinedown unless its me, jasin, barry, and brad."

Jasin would like to thank all of his true Shinedown fans and the many well wishes from his fellow band friends over the music industry...too many to write.

He has received hundred's of calls and emails from his fans, friends and various bands giving him their support.

Jasin is safe and is on the road to recovery.

He needs for his Shinedown fans to know that Brent is his true friend and supporter!
Brent and Jasin are closer than blood brothers in heart and soul. Brent loves Jasin and continues to support him! Please do not be hurtful to Brent. He is upset enough and hurt about Atlantic Records temporary(?) dropping Jasin off the Band line up.

Again, Brent is the primary person in Shinedown. All of the others are just hired help.

I am not saying the others are not good musicians........they are that is the reason they were hired. Jasin helped Zach and Nick in the past because of friendship and their ability to play music.

Jasin wants no negative comments about his friend Brent and wants all of the Shinedown Fans to support Brent 100% as Brent is doing for Jasin.

Jasin will rock again. He is a rock star down to his bones. Jasin is tough and loves playing for his fans. Playing his music is the blood running through his veins.

Just like many other musicians he got caught in the life of being a rock star. He is on the road to feeling the music again.

Like Eric Clapton said, it is a day at a time and they need their fans, family and support groups!

Keep supporting him and you will see him play again!
