Anyone else here love them like I do?

Their new album, Foiled for the last time just dropped on September 25th. It has 2 CDs. One is a live album, and it is AWESOME!!!

I was going to start a thread about this but decided to search for it before posting and what do ya know, Raina already had a thread goin' on this.

I am extraordinarily surprised that none of you like Blue October. I am even more surprised that you don't like the song "Hate Me". The chorus is very cliche, but the verses and everything else about the song is so incredibly original and, in my opinion, sounds great. Surprisingly, a good chunk of the rest of that album sounds nothing like "Hate Me".. at all. Blue October is not one of my absolute favorite bands, but I can definitely say I like them much more than I dislike them.

Raina: any idea if they have any new material being released soon?

Released officially, no. It will be a while. I forgot when they said we could expect a new album (though there has not been an official date or anything). When they finnished their latest tour they said they'd focus on making a new album, so we shouldn't expect to see them out on the road for quite a while. HOWEVER, they have played a few shows in Texas, the midwest, etc. (their area), and Justin has done a few new songs. I have them, but don't have time to look for them and all. But, you can find them on Youtube. I know one of them is "Who I am." there are a couple more, too, though.

As for many on here not taking a liking to Blue, I understand. Not only is Justin's voice something that you either love or hate, but their sound is quite different. AND, although the sentiment of many of the songs are similar, Blue's lyrics are generally much more esoteric.

I'm glad you and Steve appreciate them, though. Imo, they are one of the few bands that are even better live, too. I have a few vids of them up on my Youtube if you want to check them out, and I have quite a bit more to post up there, eventually. And, "Hate Me" is just one of those songs that are perfect all around to me...musically, lyrically, etc. If you don't have Foiled for the Last Time, you need to get it. The live CD in that is one of my all time favorite CDs. Although the studio album is great already, once I heard the live CD, the studio versions just didn't do them justice anymore to me. It's awesome! My only complaints are that the few swears are bleeped out, and the audience messes up the last line of Hate Me. How I wish I was at that show, though! It must have been amazing.
