I'm sore, deaf, and wet....and it was worth it all. All I Say!! I'm just getting back from the Black Stone Cherry/Saliva concert, and it was the shiznet. Man oh man what a night. The show started at like 10 pm supposedly, but I got there at like 7 to try to beat everyone, and already there was like at least 25 ppl in line. I got along with these two older guys, like in their 40s, and so once we got in I sat and drank with them and was having a good time. It was basically just a big bar, and so when we first got in we kinda just sat and drank and relaxed. At 9, Black Stone Cherry came on, and I immeditely hurried to the stage. We didn't have seats, everyone stood like a normal concert, so to explain how close I was, I'd say 2nd row, on the left, in front of the guitarist. Anyways, even though I don't have their album, they kicked some ass with their performance. That drummer is full of energy. I got some love from the guitarist since I pointed to him and said you rule and he did the same, lol. I would give you a tracklist but besides Lonely Train, I don't know any of their songs.

Then we stood for like an hour waiting for them to set everything up for Saliva. Security took out some guy who you could tell in his face was drunk as hell.

Finally Saliva came on, and the place was insane for them. That new guitarist was pretty damn active, spitting water on people (he splashed a pile of water on my head and shoulder). He high fived me though, he was cool. Also got some love from the bassist, pointing to me and giving me the devil's horns, lol. The crowd was jumping and everything for them though, almost had a mosh pit at one point. Josey said they were definitely coming back, b/c it may of been a small place but he had been in bigger places and they weren't as loud as we were. As for what they performed, I don't remember the exact order, but here's what I remember:

1. Can't remember first song, pretty sure it was off the Survival of the Sickest album
2. A rock version of "Shout" by Tears for Fears, and a cover of "Another Brick in the Wall", kinda mixed them together
3. Fuck All Y'all
4. Starting Over
5. Can't remember
6. Superstar
7. Rest In Pieces
8. Broken Sunday
9. Click Click Boom
10. Ladies & Gentlemen
11. Always
12. Your Disease

I think that's all, could of been more. After that, I went back to see those guys I came in with, and told them I loved the show and all, and then went to go get some merchandise. I bought a Saliva shirt, and I actually found the drummer near by of Saliva and got him to autograph the t-shirt and shook his hand. Then I bought some small poster of Black Stone Cherry, and I got every member to autograph it. The singer was real nice, thanking me for showing up. The drummer was the best to me, asking me if I had a great time, thanking me for coming, shaking my hand, all that stuff. I then got a coke cause I was out of breath and my "new friends" had disappeared, so I got out of there, ready to go home. I walked by this DJ named Don King, aka dk, who's a DJ for our pop station and our rock station, and I shook his hand and told him he rocked, b/c I've talked to the guy before, and he really was the one who got the Aaron Lewis concert to happen down here, and I'm sure he helped to get this with Saliva and all to happen. I got a ton of pictures from the show. A lot of ppl took pics with their phones. But yea, after I spoke to dk for a bit, I walked all the way back to my truck which was real far away, and headed home.....and got stopped by a road block...after the guitarst of Saliva had spit some beer on me and the crowd earlier...so I didn't know what to think, but I told the guy I didn't drink any beer since I told him I was at a concert (I didn't, I only drank 2 cokes), and he let me go and now I'm home.....so yaaaaaay. So I got kick-ass performances by two bands, tons of pictures, a Saliva t-shirt autographed by the drummer, a Black Stone Cherry poster autographed by the entire band, a ton of handshakes and all from the band members, a Saliva guitar pick, and overall damn good satisfaction......and did I mention I'm friggen deaf? =P

Sounds like you had an awesome time!

I once met all the Blackstone Cherry guys, except for the blonde kid, and they ARE amazingly nice!

I'm glad you had such a good time! It was good to hear!

It's nice to see your enthusiasm. I used to be like that, but now that I've been to hundreds of shows, it doesn't feel all that new to me, except if it's a band in my top 10 or something.
