Just got home from the show at Darien Lake. Awesome show!! I only have 2 complaints:

1. I wish the lighting wouldn't have been so bright and strobe-like... I just about passed out halfway thru Staind's set and spent most of the time sitting on the floor. The lights, plus a mixture of the heat, not currently having full lung capacity and the sweaty people invading my bubble did not mix well and I'm really glad I didn't blow the mac & cheese I had for lunch on the people in front of me.

2. The fucking DOUCHE who stole the drum stick from my little brother. If there is anyone on here that was in the pit and witnessed this I'd like to know your thoughts on it. Here's the story: After their set (just like JBS and Hinder did) Staind threw guitar picks and drum sticks into the crowd. Jon threw one RIGHT to my brother. The drum stick was like a magnet to his hand. After he caught it like 5 guys literally jumped on him. He's a pretty big kid and if there weren't females involved in the whole debacle, he would have started throwing elbows. The stick was HIS. His hands were gripped around the MIDDLE of the stick. Somehow I got my arm tangled up in everyone else's and it pretty near got ripped out of the socket so I started screaming. Being a concerned brother, he then focused his attention on me all while still gripping the drum stick with all his might. As this was happening, this Jackie Chan wannabe pulls out his kung fu what not and some how gets the stick. It's ok though because the moron then held it up in the air like he won a trophy and the guy behind him grabbed it out of his hand. NOBODY did anything to the other people who caught their sticks... why'd they have to pick on us!! My poor brother, lol, his fingers are all swollen and he has blisters on his palms from gripping so tight. He tried so hard


But anyways, it was a great show. We were no more than 10 feet from the stage. I was trying to keep track of the set list but like I mentioned earlier, I was more worried about yakking than writing the songs down. I did happen to get some AMAZING pictures that I will post tomorrow once I get them uploaded. I just got a new camera last week, had no idea how to use it and somehow managed to get some great shots.

One last thing... I was super impressed with Hinder and JBS. I never heard of JBS and only had heard maybe 3 Hinder songs before tonight. I will be buying their cds tomorrow.

I hate losers like that! At the 3DG, Alter Bridge show, the Alter Bridge drummer clearly threw/handed me the drum stick, w/my grabbing it in the middle, and this guy 2 people over from me (a friend of the guard...they were talking all night) tries to not only rip it out of my hand to no avail, but then tries grabbing it again, trying to jerk it away, and when that didn't work (I'm quite strong and determined when I'm pissed), he grabbed it again and would not let go (the guard watching and allowing this 'man'...I use that term sarcastically...try to continually steal the stick from the girl the drummer actually HANDED it to), until I gave him my you DON'T want to 'F' w/me stare and he immediately let go. Then the guard had the f'n audacity to come up to me and say that guy is a real gentleman for letting you have that. Are you f'n kidding me...not only could he NOT get it away from me after multiple attempts, but he kept trying to steal it from a chick whom it was intended for, no less, repeatedly for I'd seriously say over a full minute. But, this loser, his friend is a gentleman. I said, "No, he finally let go of it because he COULDN'T steal it from me and was SCARED of me." Freaking punk. I hate douchebags like that! Similar thing happened at a Seethe show last year. John looked directly at me, nodded at me for me to catch it, tossed it to me, it actually was a bad toss lol, landing in the photo/bouncer pit @ my feet, but I picked it up, and AFTER all that, some arse tries ripping it out of my hand. WTF??? Stop being losers, people! If it's up for grabs, by all means, go for it, but once someone has a good solid grip on it, let it the 'f' go. And, if it's clearly meant for someon else, do NOT try to steal it! OMG, that also makes me think of this...if a pick is thrown to someone specifically, or if one clearly bounces off their face, chest, wtf ever, it should be theirs, PERIOD. It is just wrong for someone else to take it! Have some standard f'n concert etiquette, people!

Okay, I think my rant is over lol. I'm sorry for your brother, but glad to see he seems to be an upstanding guy caring more about your welfare.

There was really no need for it. All the other sticks that were thrown into the crowd didn't cause such a ruckus. I think the thing that pisses me off even more was the fact that they were 3DD fans. Ugh. We were hoping the guy who ended up with the stick would have given it to my brother since he was the one who CLEARLY had it but no, he decided to be just as much as a douche as the others. There were people in the crowd around us who kept yelling at the others saying to give it up, it's not theirs.

I'll be dwelling on this for at least a month. grr...

Guy sounds like a real bag o' shit. Karma'll get him.

The one dude wrapped his arms around a girl to get to the stick. So this poor girl was in the middle of him and the stick. My brother said if she wasn't there it would have got real ugly. Like I said, my brother is a big kid and he could have fucked those guys up if he wanted.

I was lucky enough to have Jon see my sign and throw me a stick......this guy reaches out and grabs it and hands it straight to me.....he knew Jon threw it to me.....at the end of the set, this great guy had his reward....Jon walked right up to him and handed him one for being so cool.....More people need to be like that.......keep ya chin up kiddo....

I'm guessing you didn't stay for gay ass 3DD? lol...good job. I'm actually from Buffalo, my parents live in South Buffalo, near South Park HS. But i'm glad i'm living in NM....kinda I hate it here, but I get to see a Staind headlining show Aug 10 with Seether in Lubbock, TX...no gay ass 3DD i'm so fuckin glad. ANyway, very nice pics, and i'm glad to see that you didn't get any of 3DD. Good job.

LOL!! We left after Staind. I was way to sick and too angry to stick around and attempt to enjoy their show. I saw them the last time they toured together and was not impressed. I was satisfied with the first 3 bands.
