Well, in Staind and their label's defense, HURT not only had a big label at the time, but since the only market playing them were/are the ones that play the harder stuff, it only made sense to use TTB & then Loded. And, Staind's biggest hits have been the softer ballads, so it only made sense to go w/one of them for their 1st single. It's all strategy. Idk enough Disturbed and their label all THAT well. BUT, I can tell you that the only CT station I have heard Disturbed played on is WCCC, which caters to 'harder' groups than the other CT stations, and I'll assume it's a similar trend across the country. So, going w/a harder song for their 1st single made sense for them. while i DO agree with you mostly on strategy..
i also believe that music should be about the passsion and fans..not trying to sell the most records or get the 'most overdone mainstream ballad band' award if you get what im saying..staind as a band, got started with heavier and darker tones, but as we all know..thats pretty much changed. the way i see it, they arnt only trying to please the label and the industry..but they have to try and cater to fans of completely different genre preferences...and i dont think thats an easy feat so we have metal and fans of the heavy side of staind on one side....and the fans of the more poppier mainstream ballad stuff on the other side...then you have people like me and you in the middle lol and im totally starting to ramble now..haha __________________ "So hear me now boy Stay alive 'cause that's the way it should go Would your maker have opened your eyes If he'd preferred them closed?" |

dont worry about his voice. that was probably thier 1st time singing that song live infront of an audiance. They said that they will not use the same set-ups on stage as they did in studio, like they normally try to do, so its gonna sound exactly like studio-version. You can tell aaron was struggling too much remember how to play it on the guitar rather than focusing on singing. but it will all come in time. dont worry about his voice, he has proven us for too long that he has the best voice out there.
