Earshot's new album, "The Silver Lining", hits stores Aug 26th and has already leaked.. more than three weeks ahead of the release date, that's going to be terrible for their album sales, which were expected to be pretty lackluster already. So if their album leaked already, I'm sure it shouldn't be too long 'til a legit copy of TIOP is out there as well.

That really sucks if that's true, well the true die hard fans will buy it legally.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't want to jinx it, but I doubt the album will get leaked more than three-four days in advance. It's all a matter of who your record label is and who's involved in management... knowing Atlantic records and the level of astuteness they hold Staind's record sales to, I'm pretty sure they'd drop a nice big lawsuit deuce on the head of whatever member of management leaked the album out to the public. Warner Bros. made sure they milked Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight for all it's worth, they had some SERIOUS security on that album from what I recall. There were only like a dozen copies that were handed out to certain people prior to the release date, which was very very smart. Earshot, unlike Staind and LP, have little name recognition these days, so their record label probably sent out THOUSANDS of pre-release copies of the CD to get good PR rollin' and critics reviewing the CD and all that jazz.

OK, I'm done rambling. Main Point: don't expect the album to leak until maybe just a few days prior to the street release date, if that.

And if I'm wrong, well... Christmas came a few months early for certain Staind fans.

I may be thinking back to 2003's "Meteora" then. I remember it was one of the last LP albums to be released, there were press releases that were hyping up how much security there was behind the album so that it would not get leaked. Now that I think about it, I think it was Meteora that I was referring to. Wow, how time flies, can't believe that was already 5.5 years ago........

So, erm, obviously ILOP has not been leaked, but where are those super duper 30/40 second samples we've all been waiting for?!

^yeah me too. and i was thinking they did make a huge deal about security for minutes to midnight....but it still leaked.
