Nickelback Pisses off Entire City with Mother-Bleeping Foul-Mouthed Performance

Nickelback can add one more hater to their long list of critics: the Mayor of Charlottetown, PEI. The syrupy, radio-rockers raised Mayor Clifford Lee's ire after performing at a Canada Day weekend event and lacing their performance with a series of f-bombs, which exploded on the suburban ears of moms and their ankle-biters in the crowd.

During a Charlottetown city council meeting on Monday, Lee described Nickelback's antics as "totally unacceptable," according to local paper the Guardian.

But CEO of Tourism Charlottetown Kim Green defended singer Chad Kroeger's potty mouth by saying the event was not meant to be family oriented and people shouldn't be shocked that rock stars swear.

"I would never promote it as a family event," she told the Guardian. "In fact, when people ask me 'would you bring your children? I would say probably not. We wouldn't have a beer garden, we would have never booked those bands and we would have had a family or children's rate -which we didn't - if it was a family event.''

Other acts on the concert bill included Buckcherry - the hit-makers behind such classics as the cocaine-inspired "Lit Up" and "Crazy Bitch," about a girl who "fuck so good" - and Hedley, the Canadian pop-punk band with a penchant for dropping their pants as often as possible.

However, the concert was part of a larger event, The Festival of Lights, which did feature family-friendly activities, including a children's midway and pirate camp. And, according to Lee, that all added up to some angry mommies and daddies.

"People were really, really disappointed and really upset," he said.

Well, look at it this way: kids are going to eventually learn swears. At least if it's coming out of Kroeger's mouth, you can tell your nose-pickers, "You don't want to end up like them one day. Do you, son?" No, little Billy, no you don't. That's for fucking sure.
