The first Staind song that I fell in love with was "It's Been Awhile." Before that came out, I've listened to bits and pieces off my friends Dysfunction CD but I couldn't stand it. I was into more heavy shit back then, like Mudvayne "L.D. 50" and Slipknot "Slipknot." This was back in late 2000 early 2001, I think I was a freshman in HS. I thought it was too soft 'n shit...and I hated "It's Been Awhile" at first too, couldn't stand it. But I heard it so much that I eventually fell in love with it, and bought BTC the day it was released. And Staind have been my favorite band ever since. Ain't it kinda odd that hating something can eventually lead you to loving it?

One more story, totally unrelated:

When I first got to Cannon Air Force Base I made a couple friends 'n shit. And then I met this dude names Carlos, he works services for the AF, I think he worked at the chow hall then, not sure. But he would come around and hang out with me and my friend Chris at the dorms. I hated that motherfucker with a passion, I couldn't stand his fucking little antics, his stupid dumbass sense of humor, I just didn't like him. But he came around so much that I got accustomed to him. Then I started to like him, my sense of humor became just as stupid as his 'n all that shit. Now he's one of my best friends at this base.

It's just like what happened with Staind with me...I hated them, but I heard them so much that I eventually just fell in love. I thought it's pretty cool how the 2 stories kind of collide I guess...they're similar. Lol...alright enough. Come on peeps post!

A friend of mine has kept telling me for like a month that she heard a beautiful song on MTV... I thought that if it was on MTV it had it be shitty (it was my "metal radio" only period).
One day I heard Outside and found myself crying, it touched me so much... Than I discovered it was the same group. Stupid me...

I don't know of one particular song--it's just Aaron's voice the way he harmonizes and then can go into a scream I just love it. The whole band is just amazing. I hope they'll be like the Rolling Stones in their 60's and still rocking!! I'll be in my eighties but I'll still be rocking out to them!! Ha!Ha!Ha!

I see from everyone's stories that Staind really did grow on them or they liked them from the start. I myself just got so hooked on Aaron's raw emotion and passion in the songs. I mean as soon as I heard Mudshovel I was hooked and have been ever since.

Umm I have always liked Staind, I just didnt know it if that makes sense.I thought Its Been Awhile and Oustide were really good songs but never bothered looking up the band for some reason.I finnally decided to find who it was and figured out I could relate with a lot of it and it was just plain amazing. Blah blah blah...few years later here I am!
