If anyone is interested in listening to the radio interview that Staind did with WMMR 93.3 let me know and I'll send you the link.
Does not contain any music, just the radio interview only. So don't ask me for the songs they performed on the show. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Sssssshhh. Do you smell crickets? |

I'd love the link, I waited all day to hear that, and when it finally came on the radio I had to go into my college for a seminar thingy. I was so pissed, I went out to buy a tape to record it, but it didn't tape because my old radio sucks ass, it pissed me off so bad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've got more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better fuck, Than any --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleach blonde tramp, and she's probably getting frisky. Right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cause she can't shoot whiskey... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Wicked Interview!! Zoe is so lucky, getting Aaron to sing a song to her every night. Too bad the live songs were cut out of the download.
Thanks for letting us hear it |

I love the part when Mike said one of the most awesome things he did was "Play on the roof of Looney Tunes" wooohooo my home town. The pics to that are on my website there were over 10,000 people.

I was thinking about the part where Aaron said Zoe was on side stage listening and she recognizes his voice on the radio. What a lucky little girl, she's going to have it made when she grows up and it must be cool to have a rock star dad.

this will probably open a can of worms but fuck it, its dead on here tonight anyway.. something in this interview really stood out to me and struck a chord with the point i've been trying to make about bands today and why they'll never be 'one of the greats'. Now this isnt limited to Staind so dont take it as i'm picking on them, i've heard this from quite a few bands.
The part i'm talking about is when they're talking about the drumming i think (i'm going to paraphrase here), and he asks why they dont show off more of their talent in the songs, and the reply went something like 'We dont show off because its not about how fast or technical you can play, and we try to do whats best for the music.' I'm sorry, but this is the biggest cop-out statement i have ever heard. If you have the talent, then express it, write a better song that will better show that talent. dont 'dumb down' your song because you think it'll be too complex, thats ridiculous. Thats the reason Staind and bands who use that statement will never be one of the greats, because they're unwilling to push the envelope. can you imagine if a band like Pink Floyd said 'we better not use that arrangement, the timing is pretty tricky'.. we wouldnt have that classic physcadelic rock that so many bands since have been inspired by. Or if Sabbath said 'maybe we shouldnt make this sound so dark, it doesnt fit in with the disco scene'.. the birth of metal may never have happened! they're crazy examples but you get the idea. Now i'm not saying Staind sucks, or anything like that, but if you're not going to give it your absolute best, then why should you be considered as one? ------------------------------ Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here. |

wow, that was pretty well thought out there and a pretty good point. i think Staind does showcase their talent and that would be Mike & Aaron more than anything. Mike does some incredible guitar picking on this new album and Aaron always delivers a good song. a lot of bands keep it nice and easy, but every once in a while they need to cut loose. I agree with that.
