January 17, 2009 ET All I Want Staind has conquered plenty of chart territory beyond its rock base, but it has yet to connect with AC audiences. With contemporaries Daughtry and Coldplay staking claims at adult top 40 alongside Leona Lewis and Natasha Bedingfield, the time is right for an attempt to cross the one-time nü-metal band to pop terrain. You can hear from a mile away that "All I Want" is a no-brainer hit, from the tempered guitars and simple melody to the sighing vocals and love-struck lyrics ("I can't live without/All I think about/All I want is you"). Major damage at top 40 and rock is also expected. And hey, what do you know? "All I Want" arrives just in time to warm up so it can peak on Valentine's Day. —Christa L. It took 'Right Here' close to a year to become a big crossover hit. By the summer I have confidence that All I Want will be a smash.

Yeah, very good point. We only have to look as far back as 'Believe' to see the slow-but-steady climb up the charts.... 'Believe' started off with a rather lukewarm reception and then week by week it climbed 1 or 2 spots per week 'til it eventually hit #1 for a while. Hopefully the same deal lies in store for All I Want.
