YEAH!

Panthers looking at trading Deshaun Foster. I love the guy, but I'm glad he's on his way out. It's time for DeAngelo to step up and show what he's got.

and what about the Patriots scandal? will they be punished by the NFL anymore considering that they have been recording defensive signals since 2000?

erm wow, on the theme of the spygate, pittsburg has had their say:

quote:
Steelers say taping didn't affect outcome of games against Patriots

Associated Press

PITTSBURGH -- The New England Patriots' taping of opposing coaches' signals did not affect the outcome of games against the Steelers, including two AFC Championship games, Steelers chairman Dan Rooney said Friday.
"We consider the tapes of our coaching staff during our games against the New England Patriots to be a non-issue," Rooney said in a statement. "In our opinion, they had no impact on the results of those games."

Rooney's comments were fueled by remarks Thursday by U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., who has questioned whether the NFL has properly handled allegations that Patriots coach Bill Belichick had assistants videotape opponents' signals.

NFL officials indicate the Patriots taped the Steelers' coaches during AFC Championship games at the end of the 2001 and 2004 seasons, and during regular-season games in 2002 and 2004, Specter said. The Steelers lost all but the 2004 regular-season game.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell fined Belichick $500,000 and the Patriots $250,000 and docked the team a first-round draft pick.

Specter has criticized Goodell for destroying the tapes after the league's internal investigation.

But Rooney said Goodell and the league took the "appropriate action" in punishing the Patriots.

"We are confident that the commissioner has taken appropriate action in his investigation of this matter, and will do so again if new information arises which requires further investigation and/or discipline," Rooney said.

oh and, new england did go 19-0????

quote:

In Nicaragua, it appears the Patriots did beat Giants in Super Bowl

Associated Press

MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl and ended the season with a perfect 19-0 record -- at least it looks that way in Nicaragua.

The NFL donated 290 Patriots hats and an equal number of team jerseys trumpeting the slogans "Super Bowl Champions, 19-0" to impoverished children from two small communities in southern Nicaragua.

Thursday's gifts could not change history -- the Patriots lost the Feb. 3 game to the New York Giants 17-14 - but they made a lot of youngsters in the communities of San Gregorio and Buena Vista very happy, said Miriam Diaz, spokeswoman for the humanitarian organization World Vision, which arranged the donation with the NFL.

"They (Patriots) lost, but the children won," Diaz said.

The only "football" most of the children know is soccer, but they were very enthusiastic about the U.S. version of the game once the rules were explained to them, she said.

"They were very happy to receive the hats and jerseys," Diaz said. "They said they did not expect such a surprise."

Neither did the Patriots.

well you guys should be thrilled to know that a $100 million lawsuit is being filed against Belichic and the Patriots..so the team is prolly gunna go down hard as Kraft won't have any money to spend on them..this whole thing makes me sick.

right, and in F1 my fave team with a british river, mclaren got fined $100M for "spygate"

now, Im not a huge fan of the pats, and its sad to see a huge fine in a 2nd sport, but tbh, if they did it, they deserve it

the pats have not put teh franchise tag on moss, as you know, hes a free agent, so now the pats will have to wait till 29th feb to sign him

^no, you have that misunderstood i think

the pats have until the 29th to come to terms with moss - or THEN he will become a free agent.

they didn't place the tag on him, and now have a week left to try to sign him. nobody else can go after him until then.

right?

simple:

franchise deadline closed, pats didnt use their franchise

as moss is a free agent, it means the free agency starts the 29th, that means that untill then, they cannt sign him, he cannot be signeg

if NE decide to sign him, they cannot announce it untill the 29th caus of the fre agency

in oher news, falcons won a coin toss, so they will go 3rd, oakland 4th and kansas 5th

the order http://www.nfl.com/draft

what suprises me is although NE were striped of a 1st round pick, imo weather the 7th pick was from 49'ers, NE should have the last pick to limit their choices if you get what I mean. they might go down as the earlyest pick for a superbowl winning team

^Ok - i see. i thought they still had this week to rightfully sign him. he did say earlier in the year though that he'd never play without Brady - so don't expect him to go anywhere

yes - that is BS that NE still gets 7th pick - but I've bitched about that enough. its fair and makes sense - but i still hate it bc its NE

I also saw NE didn't agree on terms with Stallworth - so he will be a free agent. With all these old people on their team, and these people becoming free agents, you'd think this team might fall apart soon. But with these high draft picks it aint gonna happen

i hope brady retires soon haha

oo things just keep getting better for the pats. Faulk just got caught with pot on him, some other player (forget his name) just recently got arrested for selling drugs (why he would need to on a professional football salary is beyond me) and Colvin is gone..what next?
