Ok so it looks like the Carolina's are gonna get hit directly by her. And I get to work thru it all... oh yippee. Nothing like sitting in the dark at work. I hope it's not too bad. Dang we ran to Walmart to get extra water and some staples and the bread shelf was empty. Sadly 60 mile an hour winds down here can do alot of damage with the type of soil we have.
I will keep everyone in her path in my prayers. I just want it to be over already. So much to get done before it hits. And let's all hope that evil Hurricane Ike that is following right behind Hannah takes a turn and doesn't hit us in a week. UGHH I did come up with a clever tshirt idea. It could say... I came to North Carolina on vacation and all I got was blown by Hannah. lmao Ok lame but funny!  |

Last update is Hannah is making landfall just north of Charleston, woo hoo, luckily I am 25 miles from Charleston so we should be fine, but the wind is picking up and it just started raining.

Do you live close to her? I might sometime. I would prefer to come during a hurricane, though just to see how it is. I've done the whole fire thing, I gotta get the other perspective.

im not close to it, but my family is. and depending on what happens with my internship next spring, i could be back in that area. its probably only an hour or less from there
and hurricanes are actually pretty sweet. we got dominated by a couple in the mid 90s, Fran and Floyd....and they caused a lot of damage and injured many people, which certainly isn't good. but i enjoyed being in the middle of it. im a sucker for natural disasters. ---------- The same things you're thinking might make you feel better, The same things that probably got you here. Update here.. just lots of rain so far. The eye is suppose to pass over us about midnight. The system is so wide it is suppose to spread from Wilmington on the coast all the way to Raleigh. It's over 100 miles wide. They are guessing between 60 to 65 mile an hour winds. Which can take up trees. Yikes. Plus the worry of course is always tornado's.
And Tony is right with you H and Tiff.. his ass would want to be outside filming it. Ha Ha Glad you all are safe down south Kathy. I just hope things work out ok here. |

Hey Kathy we just saw an update... and you all aren't out of the woods yet. They said that it could still come in more straight then they thought so Charleston could still be in the zone. And we are an hour and half from the beach and they are telling us we are in gonna be right in the middle of it. Keep us all posted so I know what is coming at us. ughh
