I am new to the forum community here and would just like to inform people about my family situation to maybe get some feedback and give people some advice on experiences that I have dealt with. My Fiance has been battling with some sort of autoimmune disease for over 10 years now. She has been to doctors around the U.S. from Arizona to Wisconsin where we currently live. She has been diagnosed with Crohns disease, Fibromyalgia, and there are still other symptoms of her immune diseases that they have not been able to figure out. Doctors have been so mean to her in different places. Saying that she is making things up in her mind or that she has some sort of mental problems. I despise those doctors who just want to make a fast decision and send you on your way. I have been with my Fiance for three years now. We have two kids, a boy 2 1/2 and a girl 1 1/2. She was told she could never have kids but we have been blessed with 2 of them. We can not get married yet because my fiance is on the state program medicaid for her health. There is no way we would be able to live as a family with all the medical bills this creates. About $10,000 a month for medications alone. Basically I want to get in contact with others that have been through this. Have seen a loved one who has had to deal with these diseases. I have so much love for my Fiance. She has had to deal with all of these issues on a daily basis. Does anybody know of a support group or anything of that sorts that me and my fiance can talk to about our life experiences with these disorders? Also we would love to hear others stories and maybe we can fight these diseases together. I know that there are several different types of these but they all basically do the same thing. Attack you immune system. I know my fiance is a huge fan of Rob and Marisol Thomas. I listened to Her Diamonds for the first time the other day, and it made me cry because I feel the emotional trauma it causes to see a loved one go through so much pain. I give my Fiance as much moral and mental support as I can when she goes through these breakdowns. Through the community I am looking for anyone with advice or just to talk to and share stories. I bless all of you out there going through your own life problems with diseases. I know how it feels to be healthy and have a loved one not. I have one thing to say to all- Life is not fair, sometimes things happen to good people that should not, but the fellow Humans who are also suffering with these things need to know that there are several people who care about you and life is worth living. Live life as you can live it, and do not be discouraged because Love and support are there through the close ones next to you. Bless you all.

Hi LivingLife09,
I have just read your post and forgive the late timing. I'm not on the computer all of the time. I too have an autoimmune disorder. I am only 39 and I have MS. I was diagnosed at the age of 34. I heard the song "Her Diamonds" and it also made me cry. It hit home because it fits the relationship that I have with my husband of 23 years and how we are dealing with my disease. One thing I can tell you, when she wants to talk, listen. When she is in pain, be there. That's pretty much all you can do. Take it from me, there are days I put my husband through hell. When she has mood swings, comfort her. There is a website that I joined, it is www.patientslikeme.com Have her join it, it is for people with all immune disorders. If the doctors are being rude, Change them. She needs one that is sympathetic to her needs, the stress will make it worse! If she would like to just speak to me, she can email me at mystique12271@comcast.net. I hope this helps! I know what it is like to feel alone!! I too love Rob Thomas! I always did, he is the one person in the world that I would love to meet. I have even more respect for him as a man/person when I read how personal his songs are to his heart!!

Thank you very much for your response. Sorry its been awhile since we have been able to get on here. She has been very ill again and we have been doing everything we can to take care of her. But I wanted to say thank you for the information. I agree with all you have to say. Life is hard but I know the lord has a plan for us all. We are working very hard with many different doctors. We did have to change a couple of them so that helped. But again thank you for the reply. When she gets better she will be on here contacting people. Thanks again
