Hello all you Sidewalk Angels, my name is Kelly, I live in Boise, Idaho and I need some help.

I live in a sort of commune house with my boyfriend, his brothers and his mother. Their grandmother also came to live with us for quite a while, but just recently was kicked out due to her drug addiction that has been going on her whole life. She did not like me and would go to her daughter everyday and lie, saying I threatened her life or threw something at her.

Their pug dog had puppies about 6 months ago and the grandmother almost killed one by feeding it the wrong food, then blamed it on the puppy saying he was greedy. She wanted to keep the puppy and her daughter let her take care of it while she was here, but all she did was keep it down in the basement, never let it go outside and would hold it with her arm around the puppy's stomach, squeezing it to her body. When it yelped in pain, she would hit it and tell it "no". She often forgets to feed the puppy and mistakes it for her purse when holding both. This has resulted in the puppy falling down and her arm crushing it's neck until it has almost died, again.

Please believe me when I say that this woman is horrible and she knows that she's doing it. She was an abusive mother to her kids, who are now all grown. She takes advantage of people, lies, goes through other peoples personal belongings and then lies about it. She does not deserve this puppy and I fear that if she has it for much longer, she's going to kill it. It is her daughters rightful dog, but she just wants the problem to go away and won't help the puppy. The grandmother's social worker came and stole the dog while it was outside.

Is there anything I can do? If I call the animal police will they be able to take the puppy away? Please, I really need help and I really want to save this puppy.

Thank you,
Kelly
