Saturday, June 16, 2007, Burn Season indulged us one more dance with them at The Bird (Freebird Live) in Jacksonville Bch., FL afore they went their separate ways. Not only did they treat us to their last show (and a hot muther-fucker it was too), but they took up a round-robin, musical bass players extravaganza involving 3 rock-gods near and dear to our hearts: Sam Rivers from Limp Bizkit; Jeremy Marshall from Cold; and Brad-ass somebody from a band called, um, eh, oh, shit, I borget...twas Shine-something, turds in a pond, or whatever--well, the pix are below, maybe y’all know and can recognize him? Oh, yeah, and Barry was there too, but we didn’t get to hear him play, damn it to Hell. I was wishing they’d done the same round-robin kinda deal with all the rockers; it was really fucking cool; Sam did a song with Burn Season, then Jeremy, then Brad, then they started over. Woulda been cool if all of ‘em had played a song, switched drummers, then guitar players, then bass players, then singers and back and forth again.
Opening for Burn Season were three really kick-ass, hot rock, get yer ya yas out bands: Bond, Snagglepuss and Flood the City (security wouldn’t let us use the camera flash, so these pix didn’t come out, sorry use guys.).
Thank you, Judy, Melody and Freebird staff, especially the sweetest security personnel in the world, for putting on another fantastic rocking show at the beach. Y’all are the perfect hosts, and we didn’t even mind the new security measures--well, Leesa was a tad put out that she had to take her teeny, tiny pocket book back to the car, but she got over it--‘cause you know we saved her her customary place on the rail. And, thanks so much for letting us take pictures and for putting up with our schweddyheaded, postjacking drunken asses. BTW, Melody, you look marvelous (No, I ain’t suck’n up--ok, well maybe a little).
Ms. Leesa, the nortorious, and Satan's sister.
The more things change the more they stay the same. This Shinedown/Burn Season/Allele flyer bee old as dirt now; March 2003! Satan, slap me, I can't believe it's been that long!
