I saw Alter Bridge at the HOB in Chicago on Friday. Sorry no pics, they were frisking people with metal detectors. They were amazing as always, but the best part of the trip was the drive down on Friday. I heard Devour 3x on 95.1, LOVED IT!!! I can't wait to hear it live. They were giving away free tickets for August Fest in Greys Lake, but I wasn't that lucky. I'll be there anyway.
I saw Alter Bridge back in October and they were amazing. I saw them in a really small club in Chattanooga, TN that couldn't have held more than 500 people. I was right up on the stage and I got to meet Myles and Mark after the show. They were awsome, not to mention that it was the week before Blackbird got released, so I got to hear almost all the songs before they officially came out.
Where you been? Where you from? Don't you know us? We're the ones who got to steal the sun.
I think it's so much better to see your favorite bands at a small venue. The HOB isn't that big but it was a sold out show. There was a VIP party afterwards and my friend and I tried to buy some girls passes but she wasn't selling!!!!
Smaller club shows are always an event since the bands are up close and the intimacy makes the shows more exciting. Big rock shows are cool but unless the band is a real big act that can hold its own, then big shows are pointless.
BTW I was recently turned onto this band Deaf Pedestrians and I've been checking out their stuff. They have this one song called '15 Beers Ago' and it's pretty cool stuff. They're a cool, fun melodic rock band that fans of Alter Bridge should definitely check out.
