Life Starts Now is their third album, set to release Sept. 22nd. First single is called "Break" another confirmed track is called "World So Cold"...wonder if they know that's a Mudvayne song? I don't like how they stole Shinedown's crows for the cover though...

Finally... that album better be good!
The title kinda sucks.

I don't think these are crows though, maybe doves? (I suck at ornithology Razzer) but the cover reminds me of that shirt Eric is wearing in the SOM booklet (that one)
Other than that the coloring is somewhat weird.

Anyway, it's about the music right? I just hope they don't go emo too much (remember "Pain"?).

Wow, you got emo from pain? I guess I am too much of a Van Halen fan cuz I got rough sex out of Pain...

I like the cover, guys smashing TVs...lined with snakes...neat. Those could be ravens, but still looks like SOM

I agree with AllAmericanDan, I got sex out of Pain, but maybe thats just because I'm a perv Wink I quite like the cover, but yeah ultimately, its the music that matters.

Both their albums have been great, hope this one will too. I thought "Pain" was about Emo Sex, blink .... Not sure what the hell to think of the cover, I see bats, doves, butterflies, and possibly a crow chasing a butterfly..... Have they played a song off of it on the radio yet???

Their first single is called Break, I don't think it has been released yet. Wow, "Break" and an album cover with crows chasing butterflies, is 3DG trying to rip off Shinedown? uhuhuh

Emo sex? That sounds...very unpleasant.

Hmmm, I always thought Pain was about self-destructive lifestyle or something along those lines. But then again, it's been a long time since I last listened to that album. (Did I mention I liked the debut better?)

Oh and "Break" as a song name is about as original as eating cornflakes for breakfast (couldn't come up with a better comparison).
Let's see: Breaking Inside, Break (Shinedown), Break My Fall and Breakdown (Breaking Benjamin), Broken and Breakdown (Seether), Break Away (Staind) - just to name a few Razzer

I hope it will be one of the good "break" songs, not the mediocre ones...

I thought the debut had too many "I hate my parents/girlfriend" songs. Burn, Take Me Under, and Wake Up were probably the best tracks. I liked Drown and Overrated but not as much as those three. But the singles were all those "I hate my ____" songs. One X probably had the best 3DG song in Animal I Have Become. I thought both were good, but each had their own distinctive flaw...Like what the hell is that noise in "Time of Dying"? Is that a keyboard? Regardless, please 3DG never do that again!

Or if the site is back up you can check Break out there too. I am quite impressed and am looking forward to this album

It is up and you can hear it, over and over again because an ad pretty much prevents you from using the page with the exception hearing Break.

It's not bad, I *kinda* like it, I think its better than Breaking Benjamin's "I Will Not Bow." But I am starting to realize that I like these bands because Shinedown took so long with the Sound of Madness that I needed something else to listen to. Because every new lead single I hear from bands I like make me think "Wow, that was nowhere near as good as Devour." But than again I think "Wow, that was nowhere near as good as Diary of Jane/Animal I Have Become" so it might be an expectation thing too...

I like the song - good old TDG song, it rocks. Damn catchy too! Since I'm not a fanatic admirer of the band, I don't have much expectations. A little change in sound would be nice, but not necessary.

As for the Ad, just click next to it, and it disappears. Took me awhile to figure that out Razzer

Soo... it's out. What do you think?

I think someone over at tunelab.com said it best:
quote:
This band has never been the second coming, just a decent hard rock band with some good hooks.

They still are. I've only listened to the album twice so far, but I'd say it's pretty good. Not as catchy as One X maybe, and with more midtempo songs.
quote:
But the choruses lack the hooks that keeps you coming back for more

The thing is just, after three years you would expect a little more than just staying true to your style...

Anyone else notice a ressemblance between "Goin' Down" and "Burn it to the Ground"(Nickleback)?

I have to say I was looking forward to this album more than any other really sense Papa Roach and SOM.I went through the whole thing and really I'm pretty let down by how weak it is.

I think that Bitter Taste, Break, War So Cold, Someone Who Cares, Goin Down, Life Starts Now are pretty good songs. Actually Goin Down and Someone Who Cares are the best tracks IMO.

No More is and ok track along with last to know and without you, lost in you, aren't bad but not really keepers either.

Here's the real let down. 2 tracks "The Good Life" and "Bully". The Good Life sounds like something straight of a Nickelback cd and will prob get put on radio. Bully is just terrible. I hate to say this about one of my favorite bands but it just wasn't up to what they have done before hand.

Album art is pretty bad ass and I may go by it just for that but overall 6.5/10 in my book.

Life Starts Now breakdown:

1. Bitter Taste - Decent way to start the album, sounds better after the first listen. 6/10
2. Break - I was disappointed in this song as a single, but now that I heard the entire album. Its sadly one of the best songs in it. 6.5/10
3. World So Cold - Mid-tempo song that leaves very little to the imagination. 5/10
4. Lost in You - Ugh...I think this is the worst 3DG song ever...even worse than Time of Dying and its bleeding ear inducing keyboards. 1/10
5. The Good Life - 3DG tries to be an 80's hair band with these lyrics, amazingly enough its the best song on the album. 7/10
6. No More - Average midtempo song. 4/10
7. Last to Know - Almost a blatant "Call Me" rip off. Adam Gontier's voice and a piano (just like acoustic guitars) are not a good combo.
8. Someone Who Cares - This song is nearly 5 minutes of just the chorus. As I said its nearly 5 minutes, but it seems to go on forever. 2/10
9. Bully - At first it seemed like this song was going to kick some major league ass. Instead it blew it, the chorus is wretched. 2/10
10. Without You - Does the world really need another song entitled "Without You?" 3DG proves that it doesn't. Cliche song. 2/10
11. Goin' Down - At last, a song that doesn't completely suck. 6/10
12. Life Starts Now - Most disappointing track on the album, i thought this was going to be a loud raucous song about starting your life anew. Instead its another midtempo song...did they chop 3DG's balls off? 4/10

Ultimately I am severely disappointed in the album. This album too often goes into midtempo songs that 3DG is not very good at. Never Too Late was an aberration, they should focus more on heavy songs...but even the heavy songs were just flat out bad on this album. I am going to continue to listen to this album to give it a chance, but I don't see it getting much more time with me with the Sound of Madness just a click away.
