I wrote earlier that I felt it was wrong for living members of Alice in Chains to continue to use that name for a band, I still stand by that but was not try to start an argument with with the thread owner, was just stating how I feel about it. (And people that never liked that band should not give there option, Jerry Cantrell is bad@ss but it was the pain behind Layne's voice that made the sound of the band...)

no it really isnt wrong, he fucking OD'd the band wasnt LAYNE STALEY it was Jerry C and layne staley jerry did his solo stuff, and then he started AIC back up.

yeah layne was great but seriously go listen to 'a looking in view' its superb the band have not lost a step they have found a great replacement in DuVall and i think they are right to carry on as AIC imo

I haven't heard the song yet, so I am not able to comment on it. Can comment on Lynard Skynard though, not upset that they are going around in memory that is cool, but when they say they are "THE" Lynard Skynard that is to a point, wrong. They can say they are Lynard, but adding the THE was to much. Those deaths were real tragedies, like Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens.

Newest single from Black Gives Way to Blue is "Check My Brain". Raw, dirty, growly rock, totally AiC. Layne's diggin' it, I know he is!

I can't wait for their new album to come out, Jerry's solo stuff is really good (I wonder if his 3rd solo CD will ever come out) but it's not quite Alice In Chains. It'll be good to have a new AIC album, Layne or no Layne.

I have always like Jerry Cantrell and I have listened to "Check My Brain" on myspace.... I guess there are just somethings that I don't want to go back to.... OD'ing is stupid, but Layne was still an amazing singer....
