i signed up for the mailing list so i would know if shinedown were playing in scotland.

i didnt get an alert about the concert in november and now its sold out. very unhappy. i have been telling everyone how good they are but not any more. if anyone can help me with a ticket for glasgow i will be delighted,

mailing lists aren't supposed to tell you about shows. how is the list supposed to know where you are or what concert might be near you?

on the shinedown website under mailing list, it says you will get show alerts by email. It doesn't matter where you are. I'm not asking it to know where I am. As long as I know when the shows are and where I can do the rest. It didn't do it's job. End of story.

But you shouldnt be mad at the band and stop telling people how good they are because of this. The band has no control over the mailing list. That is all run by the label.

i mean to be honest i check every few weeks and see if theres a show, if you wanted too see them THAT bad. You would have done the same, go to the concert and look for scalpers. there.

"show alerts" probably means big tour announcements or special shows as far as the mailing list is concerned, like the staind tour. i agree that is slightly deceptive, but if you think about it, it would make no sense to send emails out to everyone for every show.
