sorry for you loss. but thank you for posting about it as well. you too donna. it helps to make the point a little more personal than a "lecture". nobody ever thinks they'll be on either side of that situation until it happens.

i forget her name, but there was a boardie from the old board that posted about losing her band mates in a car crash. i think they were on their way home from a show they just played and the guy who struck their car was drunk. he had just been released from jail for a prior drunk driving crash where that victim ended up paralyzed from the waist down. i don't remember if she ever posted the rest of the outcome

anywho, i don't really know you liz but i don't want to see you in that kind of situation. and i'm super against drunk driving.

much better than driving drunk but let me make you aware of some laws. Most states, if you are behind the wheel reguardless of being parked or the keys even being in the iginition, if a cop wants to be a bastard they can still charge you with a dui. You don't even have to be drunk. My mother was a safety manager for BFI the garbage comapny for 15 years. Garbage truck drives, her's were actually hazmat drivers, get up at about 2 am to run their routes because they leave the yard before 4 am. She had to fire more drivers for sleeping in their trucks on their breaks because police would charge them with DUI's. I have also known just normal people get charged with them for sleeping behind the wheel, so if you do it again, climb into the back seat or sleep at a desginated rest stop, for your own sake.
OK, now for my small little thought on this topic....if you plan to drink, plan not to drive. Call a freind, call a cab, take bus, walk, ride a bike....which you can still get fucked for, had a freind that that happened to, find another way.
I used to love my neighborhood in atlantic beach cuz I could walk to 3 or 4 different bars and not have to deal with it. Until I got lost walking the 2 blocks home one night cuz I was really that tore up. But please keep yourself safe and don't drink and drive. We love you and don't want bad things to happen to you.
