Hey all.
I've been a fan of Shinedown for... a while. The first time I heard anything by them was while I was cruising Myspace - someone's page had 'Save Me' on it. I kept going back to hear the song over and over again before finally looking up the band. The rest, as they say, is history. This band has done so much for me and I've never even seen them play live. I've never met any of the members. Their music has been more than enough to get me through things that I otherwise may not have gotten through. Every song has at least one line that means something to me. I've never come across a band that I have that kind of connection with before. To the Shinedown guys, past and present: Thank you for doing what you do. You give people hope when they may not have any. You let people know it's okay to be who they are. You give people a way to connect, even if there are millions of miles between them. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I hope some day you guys make it to New Zealand so I can say this in person. |

I just wanted to tell you that I love your post! That is exactly how I feel about SD, in a nutshell!! BTW, you simply MUST see them live, whenever you have the opportunity. You'll never forget it, or be the same after! I've been a fan for awhile, too, and have not seen Shinedown live. I did, however, send my daughter and her boyfriend to see them in Wichita in early summer (and she bought me a t-shirt!) so I guess I'm living vicariously through her.
There is something special about Brent's voice- that's what got me hooked in the first place. I just can't get enough of it! |
