First of all, I LOVE Shinedown. The music has rockin' rhythms and Brent's voice is godly. What I really love, though, is the depth of emotion and the true meanings that are so rare these days.
Having said that, I sometimes feel like a stupid poser, because I'm still so young and I've never had any real experiances deep enough to truly identify with what the songs say. Is there something wrong with that?

I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all. That is what Shinedown is wanting to do...they want EVERYONE...young and old to be able to feel something with each song. Everyone's mind thinks differently...so everyone inturpetation of each song is gonna be different but it's all gonna have about the same meaning. So what you and I think about each song might be different but it's theme is probably gonna about the same.

Do you get what I'm saying..I hope. Cause I was having alittle trouble explaining that.

revel in this my friend it is rare that a live show (or cd for that matter) will evoke such feelings. And the fact that they are sincere makes that much more magical. i have seen many a concert and none compare. point blank. period.

I do understand that nobody can really tell you what a song means, since it's up to your own interpretation, i just felt like i couldn't be a real fan if I had no life experiances.

Well Zach, I think you're damn lucky to not have had experiences deep enough to truly identify with the songs. I relate to Save Me far better than I'd like to, and I envy you for not having had to experience things like that. Be happy that you're innocent, and enjoy it as long as you can!

I completely know where you're coming from. I'm 15 (don't know how young you are but...) and I am a HUGE fan, but I don't have a lot of life experience either...I can relate to a few things (long stories) but not a lot. I think as long as you enjoy the music, you're a good fan.

Hey, I'm new I just singed up like two seconds ago, but I'm trying to find out if Shinedown sings this one song I don't know the name, but it sounds just like them, and the chorus goes something like, "I promise you I will treat you well my sweet angel." and near the end of the song they start singing, "do you wanna die, dooo you wanna die, dooo you wanna die, DOOOOO YOU WANNA DIIEEEEE." I know I sound dumb asking this, but I think this is a really awesome song, and really need it, so if anyone can tell me the name of this song, or who sings it. It would make me a very very happy person.

although experiencing things that link us, or let us relate better to a song makes us sronger, sometimes, it would be nice to have not been able to relate.

you don't have to deeply relate to be a fan, and if your love for the guys brought you here, lol, you're definitely not a poser.
