I attended the show in San Antonio tonight (erm... last night) and it was amazing. I wish I could say I remembered more of the concert, but I did get a little wasted. Adelita's Way played 1st. They got the crowd pumped up for Cavo, who absolutely rocked the house. Then Sick Puppies, a band I had never listened to and didn't have much interest in until I heard them live. They're awesome. Then my man, Brent, came on stage with Shinedown and blew me away. Barry gave me a smile and a wink and I almost (but not tall enough) caught one of the drum sticks.... booo. Anyways, fucking amazing. I'm a fan for life, boys. I love you all.
Want to know how awesome these guys are? I wasnt there however, E gave my lady his bass..the whole guitar. How amazing and have you ever heard of such anywhere else. Only Shinedown

Uh. I love my boys. I love that I got to spend a good chunk of the day with them. I love that I got to sit there and watch people get tattooed. I'm sad that a bunch of rude people pushed me out of my spot and I wasn't able to carry on my conversation with Barry, but that's okay because I know he totally loves me. I'm annoyed that Brent, who is sick and needs to take care of himself, got stalked by two of the previously mentioned rude people when he was trying to go back into the bus. (He came out to tell me bye)
But aside from the general assyness of that one group (and the rude assholes that bathed in shitty cologne and insisted on standing in front of me when there was an ENTIRE side stage area to stand in!) It was a very lovely thing.
WOW, Mel - you got to sit with Shinedown before the concert? I didn't know Brent was sick. That's too bad. He did a great job of not showing it. I remember the lead singer of Sick Puppies telling the crowd they could win a guitar by texting something to a certain number. They guitar that was won is the one they were going to give away. That's really cool, though. I saw them give it to her.
Mel, I'm totally jealous you got to get that close to the Shinedown band members. I was really sad I didn't get to meet them after the concert. I was really looking forward to it.

Don't be. I couldn't see for shit from where I was. I had to keep moving side to side. I'm sure you had a much better view than I did!
Yeah, Brent wasn't feeling well and when I told him bye, he was worse. Poor thing. I hope he took my suggestion and had someone pick some stuff up for him. He's having to rest his voice too, so he doesn't really come out much which, to me, is totally understandable. Sunset Station's not really a good place to try and meet a band after a show because security runs everyone off.
But I had a blast with Jake and chatting and laughing with everyone. I go to see my friends, the show is a bonus.
