Anybody else going? It's a free show! The only bad thing is that it's 21 and older, so the girls I usually go with can't go. 21 and older shows piss me off. The lineup is Shinedown, Halestorm, Cavo, and Tantric. I'll post a review eventually. The Simulate This! tour 10 song set made me hungry for another headline show, so I'm pumped! Band

I'm going! Egypt Central will be there as well. I was talking to Zach about this show. He said that it's going to be a huge set with new songs. They are set to play 2 hours and between 16-19 songs. He also said they've been working on 3 older songs that they haven't played in a long time. I won't spoil the surprize. But it's going to be huge!

When you said they are gonna play a huge set with NEW SONGS, you meant new as in new to the normal set list right? Not new as in fourth album, brand spankin new Eeker? Cause didn't Brent say they were premiering the new songs in the UK in November? If I hear some new songs I'm gonna flip out! I can't wait to see what older songs they play. I'm hoping for Begin Again (it's been ages since they've played this one), Lost In The Crowd, In Memory, and Shed Some Light. I'll be stoked if I hear at least one of those. Only 4 more days!

Another amazing show! I have yet to be disappointed at a Shinedown show. I'm not gonna write too much about SD's set cause we all know how incredible they are, but if anybody has any questions I'd be happy to anwer them Smiler. Tantric opened the show and I was really impressed by their set. I only knew Down And Out and Mind Control prior to the show, so I'm new to the band, but after seeing them live, I'm probably gonna be picking up at least one of their albums. The lead singer's voice is awesome live! I've never heard a vocalist have that deep of a natural tone to their voice. I think he sounds better live than on the actual studio versions of the songs. And the violin player is badass! Cavo was next. I couldn't really get into their set. Their songs aren't heavy enough for me, but I did enjoy Champagne. No way they should've been after Tantric. Halestorm, like SD, never disappoints with their live show. I think this was my 8th time seeing them and Lzzy's voice was the best I've heard it.

Here's the set list (not in order):

Sound of Madness
Heroes
Save Me
45
Fly From The Inside
Burning Bright
Left Out
Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide
Sin With A Grin
The Crow and The Butterfly
If You Only Knew
Call Me
Second Chance
Devour

Besides the show, the other highlight of my night was talking to Barry. This was my first time meeting him. I have only talked with Brent once and I have yet to meet Zach and Eric, but I definitely wanna meet them eventually. Barry is a real cool guy. Down to earth, laid back, and you can tell the guy doesn't have an one bit of an ego. I got a picture taken with him and I would like to post it, so can someone tell me how? I could go on and on about this, but I'll get down to the nitty gritty.

1) I asked him about the song for a movie soundtrack and he said they have it recorded and everything, they're just waiting to get a 100% approval. He said it's for a big action movie coming out in April and if you Google it, you should be able to figure it out pretty easily. He also said the song has a Sound of Madness vibe to it. Later on I was thinking to myself, "Now did he mean a SOM sound as in the song or the album", but I think he meant the song. I'm pissed that I didn't think to ask which he meant, but I was talking to Barry Kerch! so I was a little nervous. Sorry guys Frowner.

2) They recently did an acoustic set for Itunes that should be released soon!

3) They have about 15 songs demoed for the next album, but they're not ready to play them live yet cause they still have another year and half of touring for TSOM.

4) This news is a little disappointing, especially for the fans in the UK, but Barry said that he doesn't think they are premiering any new songs live in the UK in November. He said that Brent was misquoted and that he meant new as in songs off TSOM that haven't been played live. This really confused me cause I thought Brent said in that video interview that they were premeiring new songs off the next album think. Either way, he said that's not the plan.

i loved reading these 2. i cant wait for the acoustic set. and OF COURSE i cant wait for the next album to come out! the movie soundtrack also sounds really awesome sooo most likely that will be on itunes too! Smiler

thats soooo awesome that you got to meet Barry! i hope i get to one day... how did you get to meet him?

and for putting pics up.. the way i do it is from photobucket. and how you do that is by uploading it to photobucket. then somewhere on the page you'll find codes for it. use the one that has "[img]" on it. copy it and paste it on here. that should do it.

oh and also.. i hope to see a setlist like that one day...

Great report! Thanks for the updates! Also, really happy you enjoyed Tantric - I will pass your praise on to Hugo and Marcus. They are good people, and their music ROCKS! When you get the Mind Control album (newly released) check out "Coming Undone" - will be their next single (and no, it doesn't sound like Korn's tune of the same name!).

Thanks Mad Mama! You can pass my praise onto the whole band. I only pointed out the vocalist and violinist because I've never heard a voice like that or a violinist in a rock band. Every member of the band was talented and fun as hell to watch live. I wanna get one of their albums, so which one would you recommend? I love Down and Out, but I also thought Coming Undone was awesome live, so I'm not sure which album to buy first.

It's awesome that they have so many songs demoed already. It must be so cool to be on the inside of the circle, knowing the new tunes already and all that shit. Gah, so jealous!

Also, I think I know what movie they're doing the soundtrack. Not trying to tease because I honestly don't know but - is this a known thing at all? Don't know if I should spoil the surprise.

Agreed, thanks for the share on the news. That is awesome that the song soon to be on an OST is going to be original. I like when movies promote bands, though I wish they would stop using songs that are on albums just because they are popular. It should be a time for a band to showcase it's talent anew, just as much a the actors, directors, and so on... An acoustical set on iTunes, that is bought!!! It is also great to hear that they already have some songs demoed for the new album.

And I wouldn't worry Dark Meat, if you continue to go to shows, you will meet them all, this year was the first time in 10 years that I was able to afford to even go to a show, and Shinedown was one of my first picks. The second time I saw them, which was a the Dubuque County Fair, I meet Zach, Brent, and Barry. The Third time, Missouri State Fair, was at the Rock Camp and saw, again, Barry and Zach, then finally Eric...

Wow, I saw the picture of Barry's hand on shinedown.com when he punch whatever it was, but I didn't know he sprang his wrist in the process.... Ouch!!! Glad he was still able to play after and I concur, punching dumb!!!!

If you really dig the violin rock sound, I recommend "The End Begins" which is the newest before the NEW one which just came out in August ("Mind Control"). I wish we heard MORE of Marcus and the violin on Mind Control, but it's there. I prefer The End Begins, just for that reason!

And if you are SERIOUSLY addicted to strings - please check out Apocalyptica! Saw them on US tour last year, and I must say they put on one of my top 3 shows ever!!
