The Shinedown Concert was so freaking AWESOME!!!! I LOVED it so much.... I went with my dad & my mom!
When we were driving down there we got a little lost... the mapquest directions were really off and took us to a desserted place that looks like a construction site that was building something.…
Once we were parked at the parking lot we could heard the music playing from a distance. We took the shuttle down to the amphitheater and I puschased a Shinedown Hoodie. This hoodie was $34 bucks and it is black and the words "Shinedown" written in white on the front and on the back it had a white "S". The aphitheater was set up so that it had a huge cover over the audience and there were no seats... you had to stand and watch the concert. The advantage to this was that it allowed you to go wherever you wanted and you could be as close to the Stage as you wanted.
We arrived at the concert at 9:30pm. Shinedown was scheduled to play at 10:30pm leaving us a hour to wait. The band that was playing when we got there was called Trapt. They sang some songs that I knew but didn't know that they sang. The only two songs that I can remember was "Headstrong" and the song that goes "Believe me I am just as lost as you." Trapt had really good effects..like the lighting was good and they had a bunch of blinking lights during some of the parts of the songs that had up & down beats.

Trapt's performance ended at 10:00pm and the Shinedown roadies were setting up from 10:00pm - 10:30pm.
Finally 10:30pm came and Shinedown opened up with "Fly from the Inside". As they sang that song, I just looked up at them and I was kinda in shock.…!!!!! I couldn't believe that at that very moment... right before my very eyes.. were my heros... SHINEDOWN!!! I was so excited and happy at the same time!!! We were closer to the stage than we were before when we saw Trapt....so I could see Brent Smith. The whole time that the concert was playing I was just standing there in awe as i watched my heros perform. I was smiling, dancing, and singing along with them as they played.

Before the played "Fake" Brent asked us "Has anyone of you guys ever been inspired? I mean truely inspired where it really made you open up you eyes? Because right now, the biggest inspiration to us it looking at every single one of your faces because we wouldn't be here if it weren't for every single person in this room!!!" awwwwwwww that was SO SWEET of him to say!!! I really hope that one day I can meet the band Shinedown and just tell them the answer to Brent's question. YES I have been inspired!!! Shinedown music has helped me get through a lot and brought me to the board where I have met some great people.

.They play "Simple Man" which surprised me because I thought that they said a while back they said that they weren't going to play that song anymore.. During that song everyone had their lighters out and in the air to show their respect to Dimebag Darrell Abbott!
During the song "45" the audience had a lot of lighters out anfd they gestured there hands like guns..
.
Brent made everyone separate in the pavilion and come together as a "family" to respresent they we were a whole.
Then they walked off of the stage, and I thought that it was the end. They came back on stage and my dad explained to me later that most band to that when they perform. When they walk off the stage, then that is technogcally the "end" of the show and they audiences cheers for them to come back on & they do to please the audience. They walk off is signalling that they are near the end of the show and any songs after that is concidered an additional encore songs.
At the end of the show, I was sad that it was at the end and I didn't want to leave. Brent really got the audience into it and hyped up. All in all I had a great time and I would love to go see them again in concert

Ahhh, I remember my first Shinedown concert. You're just in absolute shock! lol Glad to see you had an awesome time Girly and that you finally got to see the guys live. It's truly a wonderful experience.

As for them playing "Simple Man", they play it all the time at every show. I think fans get kind of pissed if they don't play it, so that's why they do. I for one would trade in seeing "Simple Man" live for "Break", "Carried Away", or any other song of theirs that doesn't get played live anymore but that's just my opinion.

7 and many more to come! I haven't been to one since April (only 2 months ago) and I'm going freaking nuts, especially because there are no Florida dates scheduled as of now! *sigh*

But yeah the first concert is the best but trust me, no matter how many, seeing them live is always such a cool experience! Wink

Jen I agree with you. I would give up "simple man" to hear a few tunes that may not get played as much. Brent told me they were doing "in memory" again and I haven't heard them do it yet. I'm dying to hear this! I'd love to hear "someday" live as well.

IF anyone has venue information on the Struther's show ... Hook a sister up!

I went through the shock/awe-ness at my first concert, too. Smiler Was grinning from ear to ear and mouthing along the entire time they played. I stood up front next to the woofer... a very loud spot. Razzer I'm also guilty of getting yelled at for crossing the little tape-dealy.

It's not my fault I'm an uncoordinated jumper! Big Grin

*gasp* I'm on MYSPACE! O.O
