What a day! OK I wanna know who decided to put White Castles at a Festival type show as the only food source?! (It's like Krystals for you southerners!) We arrived in Cbus to play the game of hurry up and wait! I am an old pro at this! HA Spotted my friend Ash and it was on from there! Met a couple of really sweet girls that are huge SD fans while waiting around for the tickets. Doors opened at 4 p.m. so you can only imagine it was gonna be a sticky day! Just how I like my rock shows! The line was half way down the block before the doors were even opened. This was truly gonna be a sold out event! I'm not sure of the numbers but I was told that outside shows hold around 5,000.

Mind you they had bands going on 2 stages but I wasn't there for the 2nd stage obviously! Halestorm started around 5:30. From the 1st note on the crowd was loving them. You visibly see more people starting to be taken in by thier sound. They were able to play 45 minutes and bust out a new song. Not to mention they did Led Zep and tore a new hole in that! I'm highly biased but these kids are gonna go places! You mark my words! After each set from the main stage the bands were to come out and do a meet n greet. The line for HS was huge! I was impressed even more!

Next up was Evans Blue.... I like the single but that is the ONLY song worth listening to. (IMO) I was not impressed with them by any means. The singer's voice frankly got on my nerves. Perhaps it was the heat of the day but I didn't think much of thier set at all. They announced they were gonna do a Pantera song! (Please dont screw this up!!) But they did a great job of covering "5 min alone"

Now comes the wait game! Seems like this was the longest set change of the entire day. Why you may ask? Shinedown was next!!! The pit area was overly packed and yet Ash was saving me place. I opted to stand back and soak in the beauty of Shinedown! We stood in this grassy area off to Brad and Zach's side of the stage, perfect view of everything. All day long when the radio people would annouce Shinedown the crowd would errupt into a frenzy! So I knew this was going to be a beautiful night. At 8 p.m. the Bells tolled and a hush came over the crowd. A few minutes later 1 by 1 the boys started taking the stage and the crowd went nuts! And here we go ladies and gents almost a hour long emotionally charged rock show as started! As the boys go into "Fly" I knew in my heart Brent was gonna take this show to a new level and he did just that. He made his way through the crowd to the top of the field and back again! And all I could think is "THAT'S MY BOY!" They rocked out the usual set list of favorites including "Trade yourself in" which I'm loving live! (Of course it would be embarassing if I did the dance to that at a rock show!) The place erupted like old faithful during "45" from the back to the front the crowd was way into this. I knew that "Simple Man" was going to be off the chain and the crowd didn't dissapoint. They sang so loud that I do believe the sun made 1 last apparance for the day. I had chills just from watching the crowd responces. During "i dare you" the crowd was keeping perfect time while the boys held the beat. Lots of crowd surfers as well! Save me was incredible. I turned to look out into the crowd that was just going insane. Lots of people jumping and clapping. The place went nuts! The boys did a little groove funk ending and the entire place was hands in the air going nuts! God what a night! I was exhausted just from thier set. We waited for the crowd to die down a bit before heading for the merch area. As we knew the boys were doing a meet n greet. I couldn't believe the line for the guys. It seemed like it was NEVER ending! As soon as you thought it was gonna die down more people jumped in line. I was smiling like a proud Mama! Ran into a few old friends that were at the show and made a few new friends as well. All in all a good night of rock n roll was had! (I'm leaving Trapt out as I didn't watch thier set!)

I know I don't have to say this... However, I want to publicly thank everyone in Shinedown, Halestorm, and crews (you are the HERO'S) for being the most wonderful friends any girl could ask for. You all truly rock my world!

Deanna

Halestorm did "black dog" and it was awesome as always.

As for Ex... He's MIA or something! I'm sure he'll make an appearance or something.

I was there too! The big dude in the Alcatraz prison shirt carrying the Halestorm drumstick around all night Big Grin

Show was amazing; so happy to see Shinedown & Halestorm again. I dig Evans Blue & Trapt too, but they were just kinda there for me.

Here are some pics I took:

I love your pictures! Wonderful job Smiler

I REALLY like Jasin's Halestorm shirt. I have one of their shirts but its pale green. Right now you can only get them on the road and they have no Florida dates scheduled. I'm trying to find some more but Atlantic has yet to make a Merchandise section for Halestorm on their website! Mad lol
